Enabling 240 Hz on laptop with integrated chipset

Post by Inco^ » 30 Apr 2021, 06:03

Hi,

asking for a friend.
He plugs in a 240 Hz monitor through HDMI. I believe the cable is supposed to handle 240 Hz @1080p.
But he cannot go beyond 120 Hz.
He is unable to access Nvidia Control Panel custom resolution section, it does not appear. I believe this is due to having an integrated graphics card, Intel HD Graphics.
How to switch to the Nvidia Graphics card and be able to create custom resolutions through Nvidia Control Panel? It looks like it's stuck with the integrated chipset and that's why it's stucked with 120 Hz.

Thanks,
