It seems to me that my PG259QN is lacking in the motion clarity department, should I get this 390Hz-MBR monitor?

Idk, if you have money to spend then you could give it a try but honestly the PG259QN is extremely close to the XV252QF, it's most likely the same panel but with different overdrive behaviour and refresh rate limitations.

If I was you I'd wait for full panel crosstalk tests at 390hz with MBR before deciding to try it.

Yeah, however, I think competitive gamers like me should also consider that the odds are they'll probably be limited to 1 game where they'll get 390+ fps at all times with no fluctuations under the 390hz refresh-rate and everything else will be lower than that. Hell, I play Minecraft (optimized to the bones) and there are like 3 maps where, with a 10900k @ 5.2ghz and a 4000mhz ram kit paired with an RTX 3080 CANNOT hold even 300 fps at "mid" (190-280fps fluctuations are the standard). Sounds unbelievable but if you have a similar setup check it out yourself; Minecraft 1.16.5, Server IP: play.cubecraft.net, gamemode: eggwars, map: TeaParty. If you can survive, stay near the diamond and gold generators at middle while fighting someone for a couple mins and you'll see (if you're doing it buy as many golden apples as you can or you'll get dropped in seconds). Same thing with Warzone, 180-240fps if you have a really good rig. All those fluctuations create inconsistency in your aiming and are a detriment to your muscle memory so you are not able to play at your maximum level. Plus who wants to get used to 390 fps in one game and then go play another where you get 150 fps and feel such a big difference in motion blur?

Anyone thinks differently?

Have you ever heard of Sodium with Fabric API?

It was designed to use modern OpenGL that work better for AMD setups (and the difference is massive with my 5700xt, I'm talking about 3x-6x more fps) but it might actually help your setup aswell since you can use OpenGL 3.0 and 4.0, it's not even comparable to Optifine, it's on a whole other level.

Hello I bought the monitor based on bijan jamshidi review Iv had it for a couple days it’s pretty incredible I have a 3080 so I can push the frames I need in 90% of games beside maybe like warzone but I dont play that game anymore Bec it’s flooded with hackers my question is on apex I get 300 FPS Iam engine capped the game literally dosnt go any higher at all even after going into the config and everything some times when their a lot of action on hand or I look toward a really demanding part of the map I drop to 270-300 I use the strobing on normal so I don’t lose brightness and the od of extreme should i use the VRR instead since Iam not getting 390 FPS and Iam sometimes dropping to 280ish

All these options makes it not easier to order the right new monitor. Can't decide between this new xv252qf or Asus 360hz/AlienWare2521H. From what I see it's all the same panel but acer has the OC option to 390hz. I also have never played with any strobing technique and mainly only played around with Gsync/VRR (that feels good in some games and in some less, inputlag wise).

I know that the MBR technique for this monitor goes up to 390hz, is it that much cleaner, snappier and sharper to play with than vrr?
Mainly play high competitive fps shooters on pc where 400+ fps is not a prob, or ps5. Im not interested in the nvidia reflex tech that much. Motion clarity, inputlag/snappyness is most important to me. Any advice from you guys? Money is not the issue.

Maybe you should try more than one. Also I would verify that strobing is for you.

My last monitors has been XL2546K (6 months), VG279QM (8 months, 280Hz OD 80) and XV252QF ( 1 month ).

I use UFO, Kovaaks tracking maps and Overwatch (Mc Cree, Widow) to make my decisions. I prefer VRR over VRB. IMO:

-VRR XV252QF> VG279QM> XL2546K
-VRB XV252QF (normal)> XL2546K> VG279QM

* Dyac is a bit cleaner than Acer. However I play better and Kovaaks scores are higher with the Acer I'm not sure why.
* AMD GPU, I think Radeon Antilag is only a prerendered frame option, however in VG279Qm suits well but on the Acer it's necessary. I mean "mouse responsiveness" ( i dont know why ), I notice a lot in flicks less in tracking.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I will go with this monitor and see for myself. Am used to TN panels with VRR and am very curious about ops 390hz with vrr or strobing tech.
You are the 3rd one who mentioned performing better on this monitor compared to the 2546k.

I tested out this monitor yesterday for a whole day but ended up returning it. There was just something with the input lag that didnt feel right,t and my aim got really inconsistent. Maybe it was just my monitor that was defective, or that I needed more time to get used to it. but my PG259QN felt way better.
I had the exact opposite experience. I have the aopen. The input is extremely fast compared to my xl2546k. On my xl2546k in pubg my character feels stuck in the mud. Bullets don’t reg. Longer kill times vs the Acer 390hz. Character feels responsive and kill time is very low. So, either I have a faulty xl2546k. Or the Acer is better. Now I prefer the look of the xl2546k. The Acer makes my eyes hurt from the fast moving image. Not sure why. Anyway. If anyone has any clarity. I’d love to know why my xl2546k feels less responsive and makes my game feel very very much delayed. Player stuck in mud feeling

Got this monitor to substitute XL2540 (240HZ).
I play cs go competetively only.
I limited the FPS with XL2540 to 237 with CHILL + Freesync and could maintain these FPS always (260-600fps...)
The consistent aiming felt great.

Now with the acer:
Currently I use:
Ingame fps limiter: fps_max 388 + Freesync + Anti-Lag
fps are 260-600.., most of the time about 350-400.
Without Freesync it doesnt feel smooth for me.

My problems:
1. I simply can not get the same clear vision. In CS I used high color vibrance/saturation, I just feel like the acer is not bright enough compared to the Benq, even with adjustments in amd settings.
I think it the Acer should be a big improvement here.
2. I notice I often can not hit easy shots even if I am on the enemy and aiming away from enemy again. This is really strange.
This means at the moment I am performing noticeably better with the XL2540.

Questions:
How to use freesync on the acer?
1.390HZ and FPSmax 388 and some fluctuation of fps
or
2.FPS that can be held most of the time. ex: fps_max 300 with 390HZ
or
3. Also lower the HZ to ex. 300HZ and use fpx_max 298

Can CHILL be somehow used with a bigger limit than 300 maybe the ingame limiter is just trash.

Thanks
