Coming from the AW2518H, which I believe also uses a 24.5" panel (but I could be wrong), I thought this Acer monitor looked sharper for some reason, and I don't use the sharpness feature either. I mean, there will be a decent PPI difference coming from your existing monitor for sure. Maybe the coating on the monitor is less appealing to you than your current one. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and don't notice any kind of grainy or blurry image. I also have 1440p monitors at 27". Obviously those look a lot better due to better PPI, and I instantly noticed the massive downgrade there when I originally went from 1440p 144 Hz to 1080p 240 Hz, but I stuck with 1080p for the competitive edge that these highest end monitors give and for the extra FPS in games.
Coating was my first guess and from my research the coating should actually be the same as i have on my current monitor. Im unsure if such a small PPI would annoy me that much that i had to return the monitor, 92.5 PPI to 89 PPI seems so low. Could it be backlight bleed or IPS glow? i'm not sure, i might just try buying another one from a different retailer.
No! PPI, just like DB (sound metric) is not linear!

What does that mean? It means that in theory you should tink 3ppi difference is nothing.

Imagine a 40db PC or Graphics card fan. It is "tolerable" (not my fav anyway). At 45db you are already hearing double noise, at 50db you are hearing a jet! So you don´t need 80db to hear double noise compared to 40db, see what I mean? Same with PPI.

PPI is one of those that doesn´t scale linear. Altho 3 ppi difference seems low, it is more than enough for a good eyesight to spot differences. This is why a lot of ppl complain about 1080p crispness on 24,5 inches. However you have a lot of guys using 27 inch 1080p and they can´t notice anything wrong with pixel density right?

We are all different

If you find 1080p 24,5 to be blurry, trust me, you won´t like any 24,5 screen ever. Stay away. I have the same problem btw. I mentioned a lot of 23,8 panels advantages and that´s another one. Plus remember, the smaller the pixel pitch, the better perceived pixel response time. You can try this on your current monitor. For example, run a game at 1600x900 or 1366x768 on your screen, with the exact same framerate you get at 1080p. Do fast movements. See how awful it seems? Because now you have to deal with massive pixels transitioning.

Another reason why I despise most of those AUO 24,5 panels (they seem to always manufacter that size, while BOE and Innolux use smaller ones). We have a great explanation here by Chief! -> viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8113&start=480#p72862

23,8 inch 1080p or 27 inch 1440p to me. No other option. Would GLADLY take a 24 inch or 24,5 inches 1440p. But can only get a Dell S2417DG 23,8 1440p 1ms TN, BUT.... 165hz only. Not bad, but only if it was 240hz....
Thanks for the long reply, i learned alot. I kinda wish a 24 inch 1440p 240hz or 23.8 inch 390hz was an option right now, that would be awesome. Might just wait and see what happens in the future, do we know if stuff like that is coming anytime soon in the future?.
480hz was available nearly a year ago. from tcl. curved.

Anyone with the March batch having this issue where VRB just automatically turn off after you restart/ shutdown your pc? Mine’s January and this seems to be the only problem I have so far with this monitor. Other than that the performance has been fantastic, VRB works really well as it suppose to

Btw any good color setting for this monitor yet?

Got any tricks to fix stuck pixels? I got maybe like 6, 7 of them varies from green to red to blue. I have tried jscreenfix and massaging it with my apple pencil, doesn’t seem to help. Doesn’t bug me a whole lot but would love to get it fixed, never had this problem with any of my gaming dell monitor

I've got a singular stuck green "subpixel"(I guess?) on my unit that was manufactured in march 2021. I can't make it go away either.

Mine’s January 2021, no dead pixels just a few stuck ones( I dont know if there’s any other way to call them as the other guy questioning my lingo). It’s no big deal when in game but really bugs me when I watch a movie or videos with dark color grading. Some people said they’ll go away over time if youre lucky. It’s a pretty common issue with lcd panels, but unlucky I got more than 6 of them. Finger crossed 🤞 I guess.

BTW, do you have any problem with VRB turning off after restarting/ shutting down your pc?? Since yours’ march batch and mine’s January

I haven't used VRB more than just turning it on and off ingame to try it out. I don't really feel like the difference in clarity is large enough for it to benefit me, over the latency "cost". Also it makes the monitor much too bright for my liking.

I turned it on and restarted my monitor, and the setting seemed to stick? Is this test good enough or would it act different if I were to turn my computer off? Also do you actually turn the monitor off with your computer or do you just let it go to "sleep"? I turn mine off with the button(because of the blinking LED).

I really miss the ability to turn off the status LED that my previous Omen x 25f had...

What are the exact steps I should replicate?
