Thank you for the info.

Its a bit strange that overdrive is disabled or blocked with VRR at 48Hz-360Hz range monitor.

it MIGHT be because I am using gsync compatible with nvidia and not freesync with an AMD gpu. I will try to get one and I will see if that changes.

I might get an amd card to use freesync on this panel. Now that I have played more battlefield 4 online with it I can see how great it is just due to less ghosting and blur at the higher refresh rate. The problem with gsync compatible is that I am not getting the full vrr range. I have no idea what the range is with gsync compatible.
Do you mean vrr is not working when fps/hz goes over 360fps/hz with nvidia gpu? If that is the case you might need to manually expand vrr range in CRU. That's what I had to do for my VG279QM (g-sync compatible certified) with amd gpu, change it from native 240 to 280Hz.

I'm not sure if I am getting limited or not I just wanted to know because on the nvidia site is explains that with compatible gsync it might give you only like 48hz-120hz since its not the real thing.

This is what my VRR range looks like in CRU. 48-390hz. Does this mean gsync compatible IS letting me have full gsync range ? is V Rate VRR range ?

yes, at 390hz, I can CLEARLY count that there are 3 white windows on each ship in the UFO test with VRB on and EVEN with VRR freesync mode on the ships barely degrade you can still count the windows.

on the 360hz panels, I have tested all 3 acer asus and alienware and could not count the windows in the ghosting test on the ufo's. Instead, at 360hz, they appear as white lines on the ships.
Ofcourse, details can almost always be pronounced with strobing (VRB) enabled. But what about VRB disabled. How much better is 390 vs 360Hz ufo? Is there even a difference?

Other very important thing, does the panel frameskip at 390Hz OC? U can test frameskipping here

Yes, this is good.

VRB disabled @ 360hz ? then it just looks like the x25 predator/pg259qn/alienware25 360hz panels do in the ufo test.

360hz= straight white lines instead of 3 little white windows on each ship.
390hz= 3 little windows on each ship nice and clear.

So there is a noticeable difference between 360 and 390Hz. That is good to know.

What is the lowest refresh rate this monitor can do with VRB and how does it look? Is there overshoot since overdrive is locked with vrb? Usually manufacturers lock it at 120Hz, not allowing 60? I bet a lot of people here would love to know this information.

120hz is the lowest with VRB.

also even though the CRU VRR range might be showing 390hz max. I did suffer from an issue last night that I am speculating to believe gsync compatible may be the cause. I was getting black screens randomly. Hopefully that is not the reason otherwise I might have to go amd card...

according to this post on the nvidia site, https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/ne ... alidation/
issues like black screen randomly could be from trying to run gsync compatible.

Any flickering or blanking could be either due to overclock or adaptive sync. Not sure. What about if you limit fps below 360Hz? Try and test it out. Also make sure to test frameskipping with overclock.

honestly its deff not the 390hz overclock because I've been using this panel at 390hz for 2 weeks and only turned on gsync compatible yesterday and then the black screen issue began. I got the newest nvidia driver and then it stopped after that. But I have a feeling its gsync because on their site it says that this can happen.

also, your 100% sure that just because in CRU it says 390hz max in range, gsync comp is not actually limited ? full range just like a real gsync module offering the same screen tear preventive quality ? If I were to guess, having an amd card to be able to use the Freesync premium on this panel would feel better in terms of smoothness vs compatible.. not sure.
