Flickering observation: i plugged in a heating pad to the same surge protector as two monitors (one of them being the FireLegend). The monitors would consistently turn off as i turned on the electric heating pad.

Hypothesis: could the flickering that folks are experiencing be related to sharing a power source as other devices? Perhaps it is not the HDMI/DP cable fault, and the monitor just needs a stand alone power outlet. Worth a try, but just a guess on my end.

You are indeed correct. I had the acer version before and solved the problem by adding multiple ferrites to the power cable. Without them the screen would shut off and come back 2 seconds later whenever a heater closeby activated automatically. Could even trigger it to do it by turning the lights on and off in the room.
I hope acer fixes this for the xv242f, not the biggest feeling of quality buying a monitor that does this

Is there a way to change the brightness when VRB is enabled?

VRB extreme is too bright for me and I would like to lower the brightness level but it instantly turns VRB off.
change it first.........

Guys after 1 year I finally fixed the weird bluriness which happens time to time and fucks with my eyes
Even the letters here in the forum are finally clear and no longer cause eye pain
I bought a bunch of ferrit cores and put them on every cable even on the dp cable
I am really surprised at every restart how much better it feels

Even if the video doesn't show it clearly (too few test subjects), I think there's some truth to it and I just tried it out

Bought the $109 refurb Fire Legend version of this monitor and it had some of the highest eyestrain/PWM-like effects of any monitor I've used. I'd get something else whoever reads this.

VRR on or off? Pros and cons of both?

I have tried VRR for the first time for the past few days and am unsure if i play better or worse with it.

I play Fortnite and cap my frames at 387 on 390hz.

I can’t consistently hold 387 but my frames usually vary between 250-387.

I imagine VRR uses more of your GPU and could cost more performance but also increase some input lag - but improve my reaction time?

Thoughts? Recommendations?
Hello friend! Did you do the tests? How are you using the monitor and settings in Fortnite? Do you think it's the best option? I'm in the same situation as you.

I've tried this but it has no effect whatsoever. Eventhough when I set the brightness first to 0 and then turn VRB to Normal or Extreme it will increase the brightness a lot.

Guys, how are you?

I have this monitor and use it at 360hz. Currently I've been playing EA FC 24 (Fifa 24) more and I usually leave the fps locked in the game at 120fps/360hz. I don't get any screen tearing or stuttering with these settings. My question would be, would I still have any benefit in using freesync on on the monitor + gsync on NVCP + VSYNC ON NVCP + low latency mode on ON? Would there be any benefit in this configuration or any other configuration under these conditions? I get 120 fps in the game, but I believe my 1% low is in the 90s, even though I don't notice these drops, but the game is a little buggy. My current hardware is R7 5800x, RTX 2070, 2x8gb 3600mhz

Hello, i think it's the best settings, you CAN'T set this monitor better than this:
If you even change the vrb or overdrive on one lvl higher or power it will not work properly. I must sat that, this monitor is terrible... Feeling is really bad, expect this settings.

Brightness 100
Contrast 10
Black eq 0
Max brightness 1

Blue, ACM, HDR, sharpness - off.

Mode: User
Gamma 2 R-45 G-49 B-48
All colours saturation: 61.

Overdrive - Normal
Overclock - On

Nvidia - Full screen on GPU
Native colour mode
