Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
Re: Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
So what are everyone's favorite settings for valorant or counter strike on this monitor? What gives the absolute lowest input lag and best gaming experience?
Re: Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
For FPS Games Over Drive: "Extreme" and VRB: "Extreme" should be the best compromise of input lag, motion blur and overall look.
The overshoot that's coming with the Over Drive on the Extreme setting is fine for me in CSGO. Also I don't think the added input lag from VRB is anything anyone should worry about since is just ~1ms (1.8ms vs 3ms(taken from the rtings measurements)) and I was never able to tell a difference.
Some people don't like the Display being dimmer when using VRB on Extreme, but for me using a higher Gamma in the Monitor and adding some % Digital Vibrance through the Nvidia Driver makes it totally bright enough.
Also be sure to re-enable VRB regularly. If the Monitor is getting a Video-Signal where VRB is not available it wont auto re-enable it again when getting a compatible signal.
(On boot Computers usually output 60hz and thus the Monitor disables VRB and it will still be turned off when booted in the OS with 390hz).

I use normal overdrive seems to work for me... I don't think I've tried extreme.
I feel like when I turn VRB on the screen brightens up? Am I backwards with this, I believe I have VRB off..

If you dont have Brightness Maxed, when turning VRB to Normal it will be brighter than before. But Extreme should either be similar brightness to factory default settings in brightness (I dont remember the setting) or a bit dimmer.
Re: Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
I'm running extreme/extreme but uncapped fps in valorant/cs get 450-700fps (more in cs than valorant)
Was the discussion previously that with TVR/VRB on that fps should match the monitor refresh rate? Thanks

Could the Flickering issue possibly be caused by the monitor overheating?
Re: Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
i did what the acer techs told me... i did a hard reset and have NO ISSUES. i run max brightness @ 390hz and its flawlessBTRY B 529th FA BN wrote: ↑26 Feb 2023, 12:21Could the Flickering issue possibly be caused by the monitor overheating?
max brightness and overdrive extreme.. all the rest off
i have changed settings since the last post i made, these seem to be the best for fps games, for me anyways.
p.s. when i first brought the monitor home i had the flickering issues... i posted on what i think the issues are when going to 390hz... When you change it on the monitor to overclock, it should automatically change your windows setting to 390hz... if it doesn't it becomes jacked up somehow and i had flickering issues.

Thanks for the reply, I've done a full reset a while ago.. it occasionally flickers... noticed it was getting hot today from the sun through the window and then it started flickering and it's still winter here.
Re: Acer 390Hz monitor - XV252QF
Maybe it could have been faulty from the start for you? Not sure but I have zero flickering, make sure you post if you get it completely fixed! Thinking of taking the back panel off and running a fan over it.. just need to keep the back cool... as the back sits facing the sun.
Anyone know how to do this?
