Can you please name the monitor you have, Acer Nitro or Aopen FireLegend? And can you check the firmware version?

Note that VRB/TVR needs to be disabled.

Didn't realize I need to have VRB off. I turned it off and now I can change the overdrive even with freesync on.

Hi guys, I have a problem with the monitor, I have the Acer Nitro version, when the monitor is overclocked at 390hz, if I am playing any game and I push alt-tab going for example on google chrome, the monitor screen starts to blinking continuously, so that I don't go back to the game.
Does anyone else have the same problem as me? and if so, how did it solve?

New here. Took me 3 days to read this thread between work lol I just found this because i'm a bit of a monitor snob but you guys are on another level! I'm learning fast but I really miss my old NEC Multi-Sync and Viewsonic CRT because I was unreal in CSGO with it and ever since I have been using junk LCD's from work.

I really want to recapture that experience and I'm hoping this monitor is finally the ticket. I only have a 1060 extreme and 4790k in this system but I mainly want the monitor exclusively for csgo. Do I need to upgrade my card too?

I fully expect my fps to fluctuate in that game and from what i've read this monitor isn't ideal for games that don't have constant fps?

Supposedly "you don't need or want free sync/ gsync on if you're getting this" is that true or am I dumb for pairing a nvidia card with a freesync monitor? I just don't have the patience for a g-sync ultimate 360hz display at the excruciatingly slow pace the industry moves.

I have 5600X and 3060 3GB and I have 540 fps average in csgo men (1280x960, low). But you will have trouble with intel.
You don't need freesync at all. I also play 1.6, a game that is capped at 100 fps and there's literally 0 tearing even with it being off.

anyone here tryed this and the xg2431 aswell ? super interested in this monitor and from what i gatherd the black frame insertion on this on is pretty good aswell ?

Well I bit the bullet and drove 100mi to get some of the remaining stock. The jump from 60hz to 390 is amazing obviously. It's eerily/creepily smooth that's how I'd describe it but in a good way.

First thing I noticed is I don't have the VRB/VRR or Ultra low latency options at all (AOPEN version). Also csgo won't run at say 388 for example (launch options) it will just default to 360. It has to be exactly 390 but I had this weird stutter hiccup every few seconds in game at 390 or even 360. Doesn't happen in other games and this is with freesync on or off. I think it's better with it off but I can't confirm, just trying to figure out the best settings at this point. Is this the trouble with intel you were talking about or can you elaborate further?

P.S. I actually prefer super sharpness off as it can make things look a bit rough/jagged vs clean and smooth.

Not sure but it might be related to freesync and fullscreen/borderless/windowed game. Play around with that.
Does it do the same when its not overclocked?

Don't know. I know many people have these stutters if they have fps_max 0. Try using fps_max 400. I don't think it's a monitor issue. The trouble with intel is that it's slow in csgo, that's about it. Flickering - I experience none. I am using 390 hz, fullscreen. Windows fullscreen optimization off.
