Should I switch from 360hz PG259QN to 240hz XL2546k for DyAc?

Should I switch from 360hz PG259QN to 240hz XL2546k for DyAc?

Post by FarisQari » 17 May 2021, 19:34

Hey guys, I want to ask is ULMB on the PG259QN similar to DyAc on the XL2546k other than brightness? Or is DyAc much better in other ways to?

Because I’ve been told to sell my PG259QN for the XL2546K because DyAc is worth it, especially for a overwatch player lol.

Need some advice thanks.

You should test drive ULMB first to see if you like strobe-backlight-based motion blur reduction, before getting DyAc.

Some pro players use blur reduction in some games (e.g. Rainbow Six) but not other games (strobing is rare among CS:GO professionals), gaming tactics improved by motion blur reduction (ULMB, DyAc) is very game-dependant and game-player-tactic dependant.

I see, I play overwatch which is a fast paced game & I think I would benefit from motion blur reduction.

I’ve seen videos where people claim pro’s went back from 360hz to the Zowie for DyAc.

Also is there a certain way I should try ULMB on my PG259QN? Like have FPS limited under 240 maybe? Have V-sync on in game & NVCP?

Plus whats the exact difference between ULMB & DyAc other than DyAc has better brightness? DyAc is maybe clearer & smoother?

Thanks again chief.

Depends on your goals.

Latency-priority strobing: VSYNC OFF at frame rates well beyond refresh rate.

Quality/Smoothness-priority strobing: Framerate=Hz. Lower Hz and increase framerates (settings, GPU, game selection) until they meet and use synchronization of some form (VSYNC ON, or RTSS Scanline Sync, or framerate cap).

Ok cool, I dont need to use RTSS if overwatch has an ingame frame limiter right? Even If I want to try G-Sync with V-Sync on I’ll use ingame frame limiter & not RTSS?

Sorry for the many questions chief, hopefully my last haha.

Also the smoothest gameplay on the PG259QN is probably G-Sync on V-Sync on ingame+NVCP & overwatch frame limiter to 357 right?

Even though last time I tried that my frames are capped automatically to 326 & not 357.
