Post by FarisQari » 17 May 2021, 22:43

Hey guys, so I want to test out DyAc on my friends XL2540 before buying the XL2546.

So I wanted to ask does the XL2540 have DyAc?
If yes how do I turn it on?

Thanks.

Seems like you could have easily googled this answer in the time it took you to post a new thread...

XL2540 doesnt have dyac, that is the whole difference between the XL2546 and XL2540 and why there is a huge price difference.

XL2540 does not have DyAc. It DOES have Freesync (advertised) and Benq Blur Reduction backlight strobing (NOT advertised). Benq blur reduction has to be enabled in the undocumented service menu, and doing so will disable freesync support.

The DyAc models have DyAc enabled by default, which can then be disabled. I do NOT know if the DyAc models support Freesync if DyAc is disabled. Usually freesync has to be enabled manually in the OSD, unless there were some models which automatically enabled freesync if blur reduction were disabled.

It is "backlight strobing", so yes it is "technically" the same thing. DyAc however has a significantly higher LED brightness boost when enabling blur reduction, while the old Benq Blur Reduction uses the original strobing method, which is much darker. But both methods are backlight strobing.
