Hey All, Running this monitor still the BenqXl2420t, 1080p 120hz no vrr with "Ama" using a display port connection to my RTX 3090,

I do want to upgrade to a Gsync asap, but for now was wondering if anyone had some input on my situation
i read a article about "lightboost" does this apply to my monitor? i noticed in a graph it goes from 8.3ms or something down to 1.1 or something, that sounds cool and worth trying, im not a huge fan of tearing tho, and some games like Ac Valhalla, wont do 120 fps with room to spare constant not even close at 1080p ultra so ya, however old games i love like metro last light redux, those do. with this 120hz my understanding is, Competitive multi player games, run uncapped fps, with cinematic solo player games use vsync, or cap fps at 30% above refresh rate, so 156 in my case for good results , but ya 120 fps vsync sounds silly, would adaptive just be the way to go then for the cinematic games like ac valhalla? i notice with 90 fps cap the on screen display of the frame time is veryyy smooth and stable line, but adaptive and such goes all over, also when i select 90 fps cap, it actually caps it to 91? odd right?

anyway this is my first post please excuse any errors, but i do value feedback with anyone who knows of this situation or monitor regarding light boosting method, fps capping and attempting vsync at 120hz. Thank you very much!! stay safe all!

Lightboost, which is a type of strobed backlight blur reduction mode, and which was designed specifically for 3D glasses, can be enabled (without 3d glasses) on your XL2420T by using ToastyX Strobelight. You can get it from his forum site monitortests.com (same site as ToastyX Custom Resolution Utility). You need to run the file that will initialize "lightboost" mode and then you need to install the "Strobed" 100hz, 110hz and 120hz refresh rate modes. Instructions are on that page.

Managed to get it running fairly easily, i like it, wondering though if there are any adverse effects for uncapped fps, or 240 fps in a game like dota 2,or capping fps below hz at say 91 not 120, from what i read it advises best results for 120 fps cap at 120hz and abit smoother still with vsync? but added input lag.
