Need help - ASUS VG259QM - suddenly capped at 144hz

I am having same problem dual monitors I am using. XG2402 144 hz- vg259qm 280 hz- and 144 stucked when I launch csgo it goes stuck 144hz. I have to reset with cru and comes back 280hz

I think i solved this and made an account just to relay this information. In nvidia control panel under "Desktop" there is an enable developer settings that needs to be checked. Which then gives you an option "Manage GPU Performance Counters". This is definitely new...No idea why this is here now after decades of this not being a thing (maybe has something to do with DCH drivers?) since most people are not logged into the ADMIN account by default in windows. This issue JUST happened to me and i'm now noticing it a day later

Triple Monitor setup, did not have to alter any of the monitor settings. Overclock is OFF. Also the obligatory make sure your drivers are installed in device manager

Hey man,
Bit late to this thread but I ran into the same problem as you and I think what caused it for me was that I clicked the restore button in Manage 3D Settings in teh NVIDIA Control Panel. I then went into the global settings and changed the Max Frame Rate from 'OFF' to set to 280hz. This then enabled me to set the refresh rate again in the resolution settings. Hope this helps.

I made an account just to add this. The only way I've personally been able to get it to revert back to 240hz is by performing a clean install of the latest nvidia drivers. But this is not a permanent fix as this still happens to be me about once a week. I've tried a couple fixes mentioned above and hoping they can add it to being permanently 240hz

I'm having this same problem with my monitor being stuck at 144hz. I've tried everything I've read to fix it but nothing has worked. Any have any other suggestions?

My VG259QM turns back to 144Hz and gets stuck randomly when i start CSGO. Fortunatelly, in windows 11 its enough to turn the monitor off and on and the monitor is back at 280hz again (you only need to tab to windows desktop first). In Windows 10 it was a nightmare as the only help was to reboot the PC and hope (sometimes it helped, sometimes not).

Looks like it's the known issue with this model or model line because I head it from many friends.
I solve it by powering off power unit from 220v and dp cable from GPU for 1-2 minutes.
Sometimes I need to repeat this procedure 5 times to get 280hz working back.
Will try power button next time.

Guys, try using C.R.U and deleting all resolutions and HZ's but 280hz. Ive been using this method since 2020 and never had this issue. I tested in the new CS2 before doing that and it got stuck at 59hz lol.
