Very confused as to why I’m suddenly getting MUCH more fps on a higher resolution.

Everything about displays and monitors. 120Hz, 144Hz, 240Hz, 4K, 1440p, input lag, display shopping, monitor purchase decisions, compare, versus, debate, and more. Questions? Just ask!

Well, you can easily replicate the behavior then if you switch the game to 1920x1080, right?

well yes actually no ..

yes bcs you think you can replicate without any backlash

and no bcs there will be 100% bottleneck involved in that scenario..

crucial part is the 148 fps lock
and on 1070 10700k there will be mismatch

1080p on 1070 is kinda wierd 2 be honest..
it will not let you 2 utilize every inch of your gpu
and 1080p res is 2 high 4 your cpu 2 fully commit with usage..

so what you got in this scenario is..

not enough cpu utilization ,almost none
and not fully used gpu ..
so all that leads us 2 1 big bottleneck..

and all that is greatly bypassed by running hidden gem on 1070
2560x1080

where gpu running at highest power=usage (not going into 100=100%)
plus cpu utilization kicks in 2 follow the gpus newly discovered extra utilization
which not happens on 1920..
and you got yourself a winner on a 1070..

There is an option in Nvidia Control Panel, in 3D Settings:
Power Management Mode => Maximum Performance (translated from French)

It increased my FPS.
PG248QP - XL2566K - XV252Q F - PG259QN - XL2546K - Y27gq-25 - AG251FZ - LaCie Electron 22 Blue IV

Okay lol. I mean I literally plugged my new monitor in and am now getting these frames after changing nothing else. Interesting answer though. Hopefully someone else has a more concise one considering you said this could happen from v sync which it cannot.
Why exactly are you being an ass to someone who wasted their time trying to help you?

V sync can cause a 40-50 difference in fps between 2 monitors when 1 monitor is 144 hz and the other is 200? That's literally exactly what vsync does if your PC can get 200 fps. Vsync is essentially an FPS locker based on your Hz.
