Check out the latest Blur Busters piece:

This is an actual display being shown off currently at a Chinese technology convention in China today.

They also even have an ultrawide OLED being shown off:

Oh yeah, its getting closer!

I wonder what panel type is that 480Hz? This must be like 19" :) .

Notice how they used 1000Hz AW558 mouse for 480Hz display.

What I wonder though is do they have a low enough response time to manage this 480hz ?

That will be a great question! Overdrive tuning is also a wild card too.

so we know 4 d fact that those type of refresh rates will be common thingy in the next year or 2..

so my question is this..

what will be the best option 2 buy right now 2 safely and with least amount of money make transition 2 those high hz universe?

so if i opt 4 390 curently,do i really need 480?
(the only thing that i think of right now,is that panel on 390 is 2 slow 4 bfi as those ufo test pics shows)?

coming from the 2k 144,should 2431 with BB stamp on it be the answer?

if we use the common BB formula 60-120-240-480 or 144-360-390...

whats the best option right now 2 safely transit next year or 2?

I'd wait for 480hz / new display tech (or just stick to a CRT and stop fixating on refresh rates so much)

Generally, tor strobing, refresh rate headroom solves most strobing quality issues. The more refresh rate headroom, the better lower-Hz strobing becomes.

A 240Hz panel usually does 144-180Hz relatively crosstalk free, and a 360Hz panel can reach about 240Hz relatively crosstalk free (if well tuned).

LCD panels have difficulty doing a good job of max-Hz strobing, but more max Hz means a wider "good quality" strobe refresh rate range even if it doesn't include max Hz.

yes chief..you are right as always..but you still didnt answer my question :)

coming from the 2k 144,should 2431 with BB stamp on it be the answer?

if we use the common BB formula 60-120-240-480 or 144-360-390...

whats the best option right now 2 safely transit next year or 2?

so if its up 2 you,and you wanna 2 use d monitor for variety of games including option 2 play with and without back-strobe
what will you opt 4?
this is d only choice: 240 BB stamp on it vs 390

+ we need 2 consider impact from d next monitor we buy,

so lets say i opted 4 390..should i be amazed with that 480hz?
or it will be like yeah..quite allright not blown away type of experience
again using BB formula ^
or its buy now and be steady 4 a next decade..

and if i opt 4 240 BB which i will most certainly do,
first off..bcs you did d tuning
we are on yours forum
we are gaining knowledge from this place
yours perception is branded into d way panel will fight with d blur
and i saw ufos from that BB seal of approval..

aka BB>dyac+

and if we ask the same question about next monitor we buy ..
using d same BB formula
should i be amazed with that new panel or is it d same answer again..

buy now and be peaceful 4 d next at least 5years?
