Asus XG27AQ doubts

Post by jesuadr » 21 Sep 2021, 00:28

Hi everyone. I have an asus pg279q (2015) monitor and the motion blur issue keeps bothering me, so I wanted to know if it is worth switching to the xg279aq.
Will I notice the difference in terms of motion blur because of the 1ms fast ips panel that it incorporates?
Will I notice a difference in the compatible gsync module?
NOTE: it is for use with a 3070 gpu

I think you're mixing up two different monitors: there is the PG279QM QHD 240hz gsync model, and the XG27AQM QHD 270hz model which does not have a dedicated gsync module but is gsync compatible.

Going up in framerate won't instantly solve the motion blur issue, but it can improve it significantly. Are you able to drive the games you play past the 144hz of the PG279Q? If not, no, I don't think you'll notice much difference just based on pixel response times alone.

The XG27AQM also has a set-hz strobe mode and an adaptive-sync strobing mode, both of which have been talked about in another thread; I suggest you look at that if you are interested in any strobing features. The PG279QM does not have any backlight strobing.
