I honestly think that 390Hz is overkill, and also dont trust Acer too much since the old days..
Im sure even without in-depth testing that Benq/ASUS strobing is way better..

so my dilemma stays.. its PG259QN vs XL2546K only..

btw is it true that the ASUS can ULMB up to 240hz only? no ulmb @ 360hz?
360 and 390Hz is the same thing. More hertz never hurts.

Ever since XV released all other 360Hz models basically became pointless. G-SYNC module made them overpriced. There really is no point in buying same monitor (that does better in few thing) for more money, unless you care about the aesthetics. I guess if u don't want Acer then go with AW2521H wich can be found for cheaper than PG. It's the same panel.

Yes, PG can strobe up to 240Hz but I'm not sure if going any higher would make a difference. Some say yes, some say no.

There is not much options if strobing is your main priority.
The 390Hz Acer models arent available here in Israel,

360Hz displays available here are only : Asus PG259QN (OR QNR version) , Acer Predator X25.

Going over 240hz would require a PC upgrade for me aswell, cant push much FPS with my old 980 GTX

Im really beginning to think that 240Hz is my only decent option, the fact that ASUS doesnt strobe at 360hz kinda kills it for me in regard of buying this monitor.

Is the XL2546K any good? is it a noticable improvement over my 4.5years old XL2540 ?

Ah I see now.

And the worst thing with G-SYNC module monitors is paying $100-200 extra for disabled ULMB with AMD cards. Ridiculous!

I think upgrading to only 46K is not a good idea. Haven't tried the two but they should be basically the same.

ok ok I found one store that sells the Acer 390HZ for 1000euros..

but question is, is it really worth all the money and hassle of paying almost 3k euros for the display+new pc if I mainly play a game which is capped to 250FPS? (CS is my secondary shooter and I cant reach constant 400fps with my current rig)

by the way, does the Acer REALLY strobe at 390HZ???

It's not worth it. The best advice I can give you is to keep your current monitor and setup for now. There is a difference between needing something and wanting or getting excited over. I can understand it, believe me. :)

Yes, acer really strobes at 390Hz. I think you won't benefit from it tho.

XV252QF 390 Hz has backlight strobing at all the way up to 390 Hz. It also has 30 Hz more than the Asus monitor and measurably lower overall latency (as confirmed by multiple reviews). It's also cheaper.

I don't get it. You come here asking for help. People are giving you factual tips and you are like "I haven't use either of those monitors but I am sure that you are wrong and that it's worse because it's Acer. The other ridiculous thing is how 360 is totally fine but 30 hz more and it's insane overkill that should never even be considered. The monitor is cheaper and no one is stopping you from using it at 360 hz if "390 is overkill". Asus isn't gonna give you a discount for being a fanboy, it's time to step on the ground and let logic and facts guide you.

Last but not least, there are already reliable mice that are over 1k hz, some games just doesn't support them well enough at 8k but they work totally fine in 2k and that's all you need to remove any of the inconveniences that a 1k mouse would bring you.

ye I thought so too, even though I had my eyes on the XG2431 (would be ordering it from EU probably if I will decide to buy)

from what I understand it has the best strobing quality, and the blur busters approved 2.0 thingy and everything.

what do you think, still not worth getting it over my XL2540?
I really want a new display...

its too many things to upgrade and too much money to spend for me, going over 240hz (new PC, new mouse)..
but Im still wondering if there's some other 240hz monitor that will be a decent upgrade from my current one...
