XL2546K owner needing an upgrade.

Post by Keemz » 12 Oct 2021, 11:59

I own an XL2546K and I have done for around a year, I mainly play OW(Widowmaker main) at high sens I do not play by tracking but by flicking large distances, And with AMA/Dyac off its blurry, With AMA/Dyac on im getting a lot of overshoot causing me to miss headshots, I did buy a Samsung G7 Odyssey 27 inch, But I don't like the size and much prefer the 24inch Benq XL2546K as it makes me more snappy.

Can any of you guys recommend me a different monitor to buy? Any price is fine.

I was looking at PG259QN or VG259QM and lastly AW2521H, any recommendations are welcome though.

If you need any more information let me know as I wasn't sure what info to include.

Thank you.

Yes but they might have different overdrive settings which could be superior, thats what I am trying to ask, I know how clear the XL2546K compares to others with Dyac / AMA enabled, its the overshoot thats bothering me, And I am not sure if that's the cause of me missing so much, or if its just placebo, but I have played with Dyac premium / Ama high for months, and Dyac off / Ama high for months too, I haven't ever tried dyac off / ama off as it would be far too blurry.

I know there is a lot of monitor nerds here that have had the pleasure of testing/researching far more than I ever could as I don't even understand half of it, just wondering if there is anything I can do.

Thanks Ziehesh.

Pg 259 and vg259 are more blurred than xl 2546k dyac off. In your case, everything seems blurry to you because you are used to dyac. You are used to dyac so everything is blurry without it
Maybee u have bad panel? Xl2546k Best tn panel without dyac

Sorry for my eng im Russlan

You don't need a new monitor. Just reduce the AMA for less overshoot. Maybe there are some tricks that could be done to reduce it further but i don't know them.

Both VG25 and PG25 have locked overdrive with blur reduction enabled and both are kinda too agressive on it.

There is the XG2431 but you don't really need it.

I assume you're using 240hz with AMA on. That's bad.
Use 180hz with custom vertical total. Create it in ToastyX CRU (NOT NVCP).

front porch 48,3
sync width 32,5
horizontal total: 2080
vertical total: 1550
refresh: 180hz
Pixel clock: 580.32 mhz

If this black screens, try reducing the vertical total to 1500.
This will reduce any DyAc crosstalk (especially at the top of the screen) and reduce input lag.

Once done, go into the service menu and set the "Area" to the highest value (I believe that's 25) for best results. Then set intensity to between 18-21 (keep in mind lower numbers is brighter but slightly less blur reduction).

I can't seem to find the service menu, unless you mean on my monitor, which doesn't have any of those options you asked for.

I also don't know how to set up this ToastyX, But ill keep messing around with it until I find out how.

@Falkentyne

I assume this is correct?

Both 1550 and 1500 are fine unless I change NVCP to 1920x1080 - 180Hz, Then it blackscreens and says "Out of range", Do I leave it in 240hz, and do I have to change the game to 180hz or leave it in 240hz also?

I don't use the nvcp for anything.
What happens if you set it in windows display properties (right click on the desktop).
Those are the correct timings.
Also that picture is from the factory menu (or "burn-in menu"), not the service menu.
The service menu has stuff like HDMI HPD, area, intensity, internet cafe, and some stuff.

How do I get in the service menu then?
