monitor 240hz for call of duty

Post by IIISLIDEIII » 26 Oct 2021, 10:22

I only play Cod warzone, could you recommend a suitable monitor for this game?

today i use lg 27 144hz 1440p ips and my average fps in game between 150-220 (i play whit gsync off), i want to switch to 240hz monitor, I do not know whether to stay on 27 2k or go to 25 full hd.

I am looking at some monitors and can invest up to 800 dollars so the choice is wide, I don't know what to do.

I am observing:
Benq xl2546k 1080p 25
Msi mag251rx 1080p 25
Asus Vg259qm 1080p 25
Asus pg279qm 1440p 27
Asus xg27aqm 1440p 27
Predator xb273ugx 1440p 27
Alienware aw2721d 1440p 27
Samsung g7 1440p 27

thanks to who helps me

Hp Omen X25 is imo the best 240hz monitor to exist. The motion clarity on that thing is unmatched (without strobing tech)

do you prefer it to your own vg259qm or xl2546k ? 2546k is a big no for me bc of just two OD options ( both high and premium have crazy overshots )

We are working to ask more manufacturers to implement 100-level overdrive that maps to OD Gain on the scaler. Lots of resistance but I'm slowly doing some headway. Even panel temperature differences in different parts of the world (cold rooms in winter, hot rooms in summer) means tiny changes to overdrive can make a big difference to motion quality.

thank you so much ! I just dont understand why after 10 years benq still using just two od option (high and premium ) !! I am tired of setting od gain in 30 everytime I change something in my xl2546 ! that is pretty much the only reason I am going to another brand for my next monitor , especially the monitors that have 100-level od

I play a ton of Call of Duty. I'm more involved in multiplayer, but I have played some Warzone. What CPU and GPU are you using? If you're GPU bottlenecked, going from 1440p to 1080p could help improve FPS. I went from the PG279Q 1440p 144 Hz IPS to the AW2518H 1080p 240 Hz TN to the XV252QF 1080p 390 Hz IPS. In multiplayer, I can notice the extra fluidity when I can get 300+ FPS compared to my 240 Hz monitor. I'd recommend either the absolute fastest 240 Hz TN monitors (not the Benq ones or other old TN panels) or the Acer 390 Hz IPS monitor.

I have a 10900k and a 2080ti, both in liquid overclocking, if the prices are lowered I have in anticipation of taking the 3090.
Currently in 1440p on warzone I oscillate between 150 and 220 according to the situations for which I imagined that if I took a full hd monitor I could do about 40 fps more than average, I had seen the asus pg259qn 360hz but I would still be far from being able to think of take full advantage of this refresh rate, perhaps in multiplayer but certainly not on Warzone.
Also I am very undecided also for what concerns the resolution, I do not know how important it can be in warzone to maintain the sharpness I have today with the 1440p compared to having a greater number of fps with a 1080p and less sharpness, in the game there are several fights from a long distance, I would not want to switch to a 25 inch full hd to make it more difficult for me to see the enemy when far away.
I am very undecided on what to buy

Warzone is very CPU heavy anyway. Even if you go down to 1080p, you might still be CPU bottlenecked with a 2080 Ti. With a 3090, you’ll definitely be CPU bottlenecked (well, if you’re like me and play with low/competitive settings).

It’s definitely a very tough decision. 1440p is nice. So is the slightly lower latency and higher FPS of 1080p.

For 1440p, my friend has the HP OMEN X27 1440p 240 Hz TN monitor. It’s very nice and has extremely low input lag and very fast pixel response time. I’ve heard mixed things about the Samsung G7 too.

For 1080p, I’m not sure what the absolute top panels are at the moment at 240 Hz. Someone else mentioned the HP X25. However, at only $500 the XV252QF 390 Hz monitor might make sense. Even if you can’t get that many FPS, your latency will be lower due to the faster scan-out time and overall superior latency of that monitor.

you're right, I'm going to look at some info on XV252QF and let's see
Thank you
