But at the same time factory calibration on this monitor did have some very strange near black detail almost crushing (not quite) - which made distinguishing certain details harder than it should be, especially in the dark scenes. This was straightened out by calibration. I found this strange because so many reviews stated the colours would be spot on out of the box - even the "srgb" space then had the opposite problem of a bit too lifted blacks (too bright). Which was weird.
can you give me your icc file so I load your calibration?
Sure, you can try it out. Could make things worse or better.

thanks, I tried and it seems to me that the details are better seen on the dark shades, very well.
The whites look more or less the same to me.

However with the acer I'm struggling to find video settings that give me good visibility in the game, on benq is where I can get the best visibility thanks to the color vibrance
I have been using a little software called VibranceGUI to boost colors in CS:GO and some other games for ages. It's very popular. Works better for me than messing with display controls all the time.

I used a XL2546K for like a week or two. I never really noticed much input lag, but I have seen many people say that. I also didnt get into very technical testing with it so.... I dont know. I just couldnt get myself to pay $500 for a 240hz TN panel in 2020/2021 just for the one feature so I returned it.

it has a slightly higher input lag than the "competitors" when used with dyac, they are not huge differences but you can feel, without dyac the input lag is halved but at that point it is not worth the money it costs.
Below 2 screenshots made by me (sorry for the quality) of Omen and benq both without strobing, photos taken a 1200pps, live UFOs are clearer, I took an amateur shot just to give an idea:

Acer is more responsive, smoother and has the least input lag of all, the difference is quite noticeable, but it is also slower in response times than the others and this is also quite evident.
There is no monitor that wins on all sides, it is a short blanket, on one side or the other you have to compromise, it is up to you to decide which is the most important aspect.
A lot depends on the game you play, if you play csgo or valorant where there a lot of pre aim maybe better acer, if you go to fortnite, overwatch where there are a lot of fast movements maybe better Omen.

depends on what you are looking for and what you play, as I said before it is always a compromise, beyond money, if you want the greatest possible clarity, to date, in 2021, you still have to go to a TN (possibly with the latest generation panel), no ips monitor will give you the same clarity, regardless of the refresh rate.

If you need the lowest possible input lag and the smoothest possible image (without gsync), no monitor will give the same result as acer.

It is not a question of ips vs tn, but of what you want to get out of a monitor.

It's a nice attempt! Good pursuits of non-strobed XL2546K are almost non existent online.

Sync track is a bit off. Maybe try again with better tracking accuracy. Make sure your camera shutter is set to 1/4 of refresh rate (s1/60 for 240Hz).

I took 2 photos on the fly with my iphone, I don't think I can set the shutter, I'm not very experienced in these things.

However what I wanted to point out is that the benq without dyac is not as bad as many say, it has a bit of overshoot but in game it is very difficult to notice, Omen without strobing is still superior, the UFO is perfect.

hey guys, i can buy the xl2540k non dyac 240hz 1080p tn panel monitor for 235 pounds or the vg259qm for 290 pounds a bit more expensive. If I want to play games like valorant and want the best competitive advantage is it really necessary to get the xl2546k with dyac. It would cost me 500 euro. Or is the non dyac version good enough. How is the ghosting on the highest response time setting on the xl2540k?

it has a slightly higher input lag than the "competitors" when used with dyac, they are not huge differences but you can feel, without dyac the input lag is halved but becomes a normal tn and at that point it is not worth the money it costs, the omen for example costs less and has a higher clarity, but beware, it is not that the benq without dyac sucks as we often read, the clarity even without dyac remains good, there is a slight overshoot visible from the ufo test but in game it is really difficult to notice it, the fact remains that if I have to spend 500 dollars for the 2546k and use it without dyac it is 100% worthwhile.

So, i play most cod multiplayer and sometimes warzone, i Think that for clarity and smoothest image (for frenetic action in multiplayer) it coild be better the acer, isnt it?
