LG 27GP850 UltraGear Gaming Monitor 27"

Post by kanon82 » 12 Nov 2021, 14:37

Hi to all, when the fps drop below the refresh rate of the monitor, 165hz, the fluidity suffers a lot, to understand if I turn on myself the images move like in micro shots, same thing in strategic games, the moving the camera is no longer fluid but like in microstuttering, it also happens with simple drops of 10-15 fps .. example in Dota 2 if I go below the 163 which marks, I think they are 163 due to the g Sync, the movement of the camera is slightly hopping, and the more the Fps go down the more the effect increases

Make sure adaptive sync is really functioning. You can do that by enabling 'FPS Counter' in monitor OSD and checking if refresh rate is synced to your ingame framerate.

Stuttering might also be caused by your PC or game.

theoretically it is active, from the FPS that marks 163 it is active because when it is off it makes 165, I think it automatically puts 2 fps under the threshold .. however I begin to think that it is the fault of Dota 2, at 163 fps it is perfect when it goes down on 120fps in fast-paced action, everything is choppy

Try more games and keep track on frametimes.

U can use Smooth Frog. Pefect for adaptive-sync testing.

Here's even a tutorial on how to use it: https://youtu.be/1KF_1fYT8ZA

Do you have FPS uncapped or are you capping your frame rate?
Are you using the blurbusters recommended G-sync + V-sync settings?
Try setting your FPS cap around ~160FPS and see if you continue to see stutters.

Blurbusters has a series of posts explaining how to setup G-sync to reduce microstuttering that results from FPS fluctuating above and below the max refresh rate of the monitor.

this is an example:
https://mega.nz/file/AQ9jVQIB#yhM-Kurd2 ... dFZXHweVZI 165fps

https://mega.nz/file/kE8VCITT#KdWGdBFbh ... xMDxzqOxy8 60 fps

the problem seems to be when I move the other things in motion are fluid .. at least so it seems to me that I have seen on Resident evil Village that I tested .. Cap at 120 fps is almost fluid maybe it is the defect but it is so slight that it is not you notice .. I put it at 60cap, things in motion are fluid, but if I turn the view the movement is disgusting

Dota a 60fps capped
