Game that don't supply Vsync (Forced Vsync)

Post by lwj033 » 28 Nov 2021, 02:05

Am currently playing a game that is Forced Vsync with 30fps cutscene.
Disabling Vsync or adaptive in NVCP doesn't change in game at all.
In game setting only allows Monitor refresh-rate and Frame rate Limiter. no "In-game vsync"
had looked around the web and tried doverrider, Custom Resolution, etc and doesn't seem to work.
Please if you got any knowledge towards this, would mean a lot!

Thank you

The Game is an Asia Licensed Game "Fifa Online 4" from Nexon and EA
Online game available only in South Korea, Thailand, China, Vietnam, etc..
That is one reason why it is so hard to research on this topic.
The currently patch made the game this way,
Before patch, was able to unlock frames through nvcp since it was standard 60fps locked game "Hall of Shame" - category
Now its more difficult than ever.. From what I've found on the EA Fifa game itself; you are able to unlock fps through game launcher "no limit fps" then changing to adaptive vsync in NVCP to eliminate 30fps cutscenes..
Mostly I believe where they messed up from the patch is that they didn't include "unlimited" in-game fps section

If you were able to unlock the FPS before the patch, and now you aren't, it's likely it was the patch that caused it. If so, there's probably not much you can do unless they patch the capability back in.

I'd help test it myself, but I'm in the USA, where the game isn't available (or legal) to play, apparently.

Yes. It is a terrible patch and frustrating news for all the gamers here.
from what i've researched so far, there are few github programs out there where they help certain games to unlock fps.
"Roblox, fallout 4, unity engine, etc..." was wondering if there would be any alternative solution as a last resort hope.
The game runs in Frostbite 3 engine (I'd like to test sorts of things to see for myself but not enough resources out there)..
Would be nice to know someone out there experiencing similar issue. and can be of help

Some Frostbite 3 engine games allow you to manually modify or disable the in-game framerate limit by (don't include any of the below quote marks):

1. Creating a "user.cfg" file in the game's root directory
2. Pasting "gametime.maxvariablefps x" in the "user.cfg" file, with "x" being the desired framerate number.

"gametime.maxvariablefps 0" will disable the in-game FPS limiter (equivalent to unlimited) if the game in question supports it. I don't know if Fifa Online 4 does.

Finally, if the game allows you to access the command console ("~" key), you can set the "gametime.maxvariablefps" command there as well.

Neither method may work for Fifa Online 4, but it's worth a shot.

[Solved]
was able to locate settings.ini file in the installation folder and changed a few things.
Setting the vsync value to 0 unlocks frame.
Now the only issue remains with 30fps cutscene.
Setting adaptive with tripple buffering does not change.. anyone who knows solution to this. Please leave a reply!

And thank you “jorimt” for guiding in the right directions!
