RTINGS Suggest-a-Monitor

Post by Chief Blur Buster » 30 Nov 2021, 15:50

Heads up.

Did you know that RTINGS have a suggest-a-monitor system?
This allow users to tell RTINGS which monitor you would like them to test next.

RTINGS Suggest-a-Monitor

Votes Expires After 90 Days -- e.g. Old Votes for ViewSonic XG2431
With the first Blur Busters Approved 2.0 Certified monitor, ViewSonic XG2431, finally in stock at many online stores, people are now voting more often for the XG2431. If you voted for the ViewSonic XG2431 more than 90 days ago, you should vote again because votes expires after 90 days. The XG2431 also got really hit hard by supply chain issues as well as chip shortages (custom chip in the Innolux 23.8" 240Hz panel) and was out of stock for more than 90 days, with ViewSonic avoiding shipping demo units to reviewers until recently. So, please vote again for the XG2431 if you had already voted for the XG2431. If the monitor is popular enough, and they eventually ramp up manufacturing enough, and semiconductor fabs spool up more, they will also be able release to Europe eventually. (Sorry, Europeans...I know it's frustrating)

IMPORTANT: Vote with only one email address per human. Never manipulate votes.
Please vote for a different monitor if you prefer. One free account can vote 1 time and one paid RTINGS insider account can vote 5 times on the same monitor. RTINGS says, "We encourage you to share this page to get your favorite product tested. However, we reserve the right to reject products if we suspect that vote manipulation has occurred." While we have encouraged users to vote for a monitor, we have never encouraged voter manipulation, ever. RTINGS has confirmed that I am allowed to share in these forums, as per Twitter reply from RTINGS.

So, yeah, go ahead and vote for the ViewSonic XG2431 ....or any other monitor you want to vote for. :)

Looking forward to RTINGS review. Someone should remind them of importance of reviewing BFI and guide them properly. I just hope they do a good job on this one.

I see the ASUS PG279QM is winning right now. I thought this monitor was superseded by the ASUS XG27AQM?

The PG279QM has a G-SYNC module, whereas the XG27AQM is a G-SYNC Compatible FreeSync display.

yeah kinda "unfair" (quotation because I get why), the XG2431 should have won MONTHS ago but then the votes had expired.

Seems like it's in position to win now, but....

Even if it will, seems like we're gonna have to wait a couple months at the very least..... :(

I am currently using LG 27GN950-B and I am quite impressed with it. It is providing me an exciting experience while playing games.

Update.

XG2431 Coming To Europe!

I was able to convince ViewSonic to ship an XG2431 to an European reviewer.... TFTCentral. (I'm trying to reach PCMonitors too)

Pushing hard to get more units in reviewer hands -- without breaking rules obviously. RTINGS is the big one, and it's now #1. Thanks to y'all who voted once on their own volition -- even those who did not vote for XG2431. More votes for more monitors gives all models fairer coverage, even if I've called out the XG2431 as a preferred vote.

ViewSonic Europe says they''re working to get XG2431's in Europe this spring!

For this cycle. There was a heavy voting drive for the Dell -- probably some advertising by an esports player or some other fan of the Dell.

Sometimes RTINGS does buy monitors out-of-cycle, or buy multiple contenders (1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers), but it is the slow point of the year.
