Looks like the Itek ggf 288hz disappointed you. No reports or whatsoever ;)
just wanted to get some time in, testing both :)
so, vg258qm and itek ggf 288 are similar, but both seem to be too slow for 280(288)hz at 1920/2400pps.
they both look ok at 960pps but for me thats deceiving of ingame use.
vg258qm has weird overdrive behavior, only really affecting the dark transition top row in the ufo test.
the lower ones look smeary even at 1080. didnt do a video because of that.
itek is better there on high overdrive but has weird extra ghosting, when having contrast or RGB values over a specific threshold. lowering them makes them disappear. here is 288hz 1440pps as best as i could:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_TIeMgNftE
thats why i would go for the itek over the asus, as weird as it seems :D
but mine has 2 dead pixels and the stand is atrocious giving NO adjustment+its kinda facing down lol.
so im still not sure wich one to keep. another itek, the omen, or even the vg259qm(im going to take another look at the xg249qm and send videos of the ODs and a picture of the service menu, maybe someone has a clue)
i really wanted those higher refresh TNs to work, because i like the ~300hz range for fluidity and nonstrobed motion blur.
thats why i actually want to see some ufo shots of the acer 390hz on 300hz OD normal and extreme on 1440/1920pps.

Can you show us the VG258QM ufotest with ELMB and Adaptive Sync disabled?
think that is sync and strobing disabled

Does the itek use same panel as omen x25? And what would you say is the fastest monitor rn based on the ones you tried?

did anyone find any information or test about the ozone DSP 24 240? Some here are raving that it should even be better than the omen x25?

I already thought that Itek GGF 288 Hz won't be good, so I didn't test it. Quality control they don't really have, most have pixel errors.

they both look the same at 960pps. and like i said before, (IMO) this speed is too low for a FPS ingame comparison.
maybe it can be a benchmark for a MOBA/RTS, but not for smth faster, even a "slower" game like CS.
sadly i cant really do 1920pps, its too fast for my phone. but there the itek also looks better, just starting to ghost.
this is VG258QM with OD 3.5 at 1440pps (the service menu hack works here too, giving smth in between OD3 and 4)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LNw6tnA8jQ
is see smearing at that speed, where the itek is clearer.
so i'd say the itek wins.

But between the qz and the new 23,8 Asus , what is the best? Mostly for csgo
none of those, i'd pick vg259qm
so strange that a old panel like the asus are better than those 2 `new` monitors , one using the same panel than the viewsonic , thinking on the 240hz ZU from aoc them..
i have to come back to you and correct me..
after getting out the xg249cm again and taking pursuit shots it becomes apparent that these new ips really are faster than the older generation.
what deceived me was its 270hz, wich didn't perform that well imo.
lowering to 240hz shows a better result:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVXMlObz2kM
here is the vg259qm on 280hz (no video of 240hz because it didn't really help reduce ghosting):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8m0r3xWyaE

but the xg249qm performing better at 240hz does not justify its 400€ pricetag. also it only comes with a hdmi cable, wich is a complete joke :D they advertise 270hz but out of the box its not even achievable. i guess 24g2zu at 250€ is a better option (xg2431 for americans).

to wrap things up:

IPS
vg259qm > xv252qz
OD120 looks better than OD normal (they still show the most ghosting, so go for the new 23,8" IPS).

24g2zu(xg2431) > xg249cm
if 240hz performance is the same, xg249cm is too expensive and even lacks the cable for 270hz.

TN
itek 288 > vg258qm
itek seems faster and wins despite bad QC, noname brand, jank OSD and junk stand.
but these old panels both seem to slow for 280(288)hz so the omen still feels better overall.

omen x25 > xl2540k
to come back to this threads question, imo the omen really is the best 240hz TN.
it looks very good on OD2 and OD3, wich i actually like more, because it has only very slight overshoot while feeling
faster inputlag-wise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWyje43n5yA
the only better thing about xl2540k is that you can strobe and save 200€ :)

so, wich one will i keep? either the omen or a 24g2zu, wich i just ordered xD
i actually just want to get over with this odyssey, but my perfectionism is no good..
i used my vg248qe for 5 years and when switching to 240hz i knew i would fall into the rabbithole.
but this forum provided good input and technical knowledge so i wanted to give some information back, so maybe others don't have to go through all this.

Try doing middle grey setting on ufo test and do itek vs x25(the two fastest), see if the result varies more.

Ozone DSP24 240 960pps
https://youtu.be/liQSs3D01EM

Ozone DSP24 240 1080pps
https://youtu.be/Siupd0reQk0

Same panel than Itek but better tuned. Same horrible OSD buttons. Better QC, all Iteks tested have a junk pixel. Ozone is clearer than VG258QM and Itek.

The white lines in the black column must be inline for it to be a valid tracking video. However id say omen x25 looks better than itek and dsp. Notty is just hyping them.
