After lurking this site for a year i've gone through:

XV252QF - way too much ghosting @390Hz (maybe lower Hz large VT MBR would look nice, didnt try tho).
VG279QM - too big, otherwise i liked it on 280hz@OD120.
XG249CM - was hoping this one would be endgame, but still too much ghosting/ no OD gain in service menu.
VG258QM - too much overshoot on almost all OD's, iirc/ felt input laggy.
OMENX25 - better than xl2540k unstrobed/ don't like the stand and OSD.
XL2540K - AMA overshoots, OD gain 10 helps, still worse than X25.

I'm unsatisfied, have XV252QZ and VG259QM coming tomorrow. I want to switch to IPS if a screen can deliver..
Worth trying MAG251RX if these two don't cut it?
That Itek GGF 288hz looks interesting, but can't find infos/vids/ufos.. Or i have to get another VG258QM and refresh my memory..

But hey, in the meantime xl2540k can do this, lol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENHbbeslYzM

the XV252QF is one of the best ips, otherwise you could try the ViewSonic XG2431.

can you give us a update on the xv252qz?

i play quake games mainly, so stuff moves fast, aka moving >600 ups, flicking rail or tracking lg on rocket jumping opponent.
that's why i dont use strobing, it does not really help me in these situations.
what i need is a ghosting and (excessive)overshoot free picture.
i'd rather go for an OD that has a bit of overshoot, than one with ghosting.
that's why i didn't like the 390hz acer. yes, everything was butter, input lag felt instant, there was only little motion blur, not needing strobing due to high refresh, but the ghosting caused by the slow ips response time was too much.
its a weird sensation, seeing details on the enemy clear, but having to deal with a long smeary trail at the silhouettes edge.

regarding XV252QZ and VG259QM (i look at 1440,1920,2400pps ufo speeds):
asus beats the acer, because it has more OD granularity.
i like OD120 and OD80, because the overshoot is white and not some inverted blue color, masking the ghosting somewhat.
at 2400pps, what translates to fast swipes or flicks ingame, it still has a noticable trail, tho.
the acer on the other hand only has normal and extreme OD.
normal beeing too slow, showing ghosting even at 960pps. extreme is too fast, overshooting noticably.

i had the same problem on the new 23,8 panel of the xg249cm. the fastest non overshooting OD was too slow, the next fastest too fast. i was hoping it had a service menu hack like the vg259qm, but it sadly didnt.

sorry for not providing ufo vids, ips tend to not look true to reality on my phone somehow.

in my case, i still have to give ips a pass.
vg259qm got really close though, but it still feels to slow for me.
as of right now the omen really is the best.
i got the itek ggf 288hz and another vg258qm coming tomorrow, i'll report on them later.

My advice: if there is 2540k-2546k - there is no point in changing it to omen x 25. If there is omen x 25 - there is no point in changing it to 2540k and 2546k. The difference in response time specifically in the apex is generally imperceptible, and on the omen I did not notice any blurring in the apex. It was comfortable for me to play apex both on the omen and on the panels from the benqs. Omen gave clearer and purer colors, so I was more comfortable in apex and kovak. In kovak and overwatch, I sometimes noticed blur on the omen, which I did not notice on the ama premium 2546k. So, if you have a good copy of the omen that suits you in everything, stay on it until something more interesting comes out. It makes no sense to waste time and money on other TH panels that will give either the same or worse, or marginally better, depending on luck.
monitors: TN ACER 1916 (75Hz)>TN ACER 1917 (75Hz)>XL2540K (240Hz)>IIYAMA MASTER VISION PRO 451 (CRT 160 Hz)>xl2546k>omen x 25>24g2zu>xv252qf

there is a review of the VG258QM at rtings if you are interested in reading it. Itek GGF 288hz TN could have the panel from VG258QM.

But between the qz and the new 23,8 Asus , what is the best? Mostly for csgo

This is an easy one:

Ozone DSP24 240hz TN

or

Itek GGF 288hz TN

After CRTs or Oled, these are the fastest tryhard monitors money can buy currently. Forget about Zowie or other more popular brands. I tried dozens of monitors, more than what you can imagine. No LCD monitor comes close to these two, response time wise. I know they are "underground brands", but they work. And are cheap aswell.

Have fun!
Hey Notty, could you recommend me a 240+hz monitor, I currently use a x25f, mainly for CSGo and its blurry when looking left and right, was thinking of buying vg259qm, interested to hear your opinion.

Probably the acer 390hz monitor maybe... The viewsonic xg2431 or zowie xl2546k.... One of those 3 probably.

if you have x25 you will not need to change monitor.
I am using x25 and acer 390hz, they both have limitations, I have used xl2546k and mag251rx.

Keep your x25 and do not get caught up in the desire to change because there is nothing out there that will make you be amazed, wait for tn 480hz to come out
