Buying the Samsung G7 in 2022 ?

Post by jombotski » 04 Mar 2022, 11:03

Hey guys,so i am thinking changing my monitor Lenovo Legion y27gq-20 165hz after using it for 2 years for the samsung, but is it worth it right now ? I dont like IPS panels(thought thats all it gets released so far) never used VA panel, but i play mainly mobas, mmo and horror games where its dark and i think the VA panel is gonna really help me improve the atmosphere of the game with its blacks and contrast. Also what i am most afraid is MICROSTUTTERS from what i see the monitor doesnt have g-sync module, and i am playing some games at 60 fps 120 fps and 150 fps BUT read in alot of reviews that it performs great at all refresh ranges and it doesnt need to tweak overdrive. So should i go for it is the question ? I dont see new TN or VA panels coming that are worthy. Also it needs to be 2560x1440 and 27 inch and the samsung really ticks out all of the boxes.

The new generation of VA panels by Samsung Display on G7 and G9 are actually really good with striking contrast. Even outperforming many TN and IPS in the same class. No black smear anymore. Often times I feel a bit under appriciated even.

It's something I feel is easier to recommend than TN or even IPS (that contrast) for "all sorts gamer" who is not maybe an monitor enthusiast knowing of all the quirks.

And the G-sync support totally has you covered with VRR.
