DmitriRender 2.0.0.3 released [LightBoost effect for videos]

DmitriRender is a DirectShow filter. It converts video frame rate in real time and allows you to watch any movies and videos without jerks and turbidity. It calculates on the video card and inserts frames with intermediate position of objects into the video. This can significantly improve the viewing experience. Motion in the frame obtains a smooth, monolithic, fully synchronized with the output device (monitor, projector, or TV) refresh rate.

All calculations are carried out on the video card. The CPU load is close to zero. This reduces power consumption of the computer in order to reduce the noise or to use the CPU for other necessary calculations, such as software video decoding in the absence of hardware support (eg, H265 or 4K UltraHD video), software deinterlacing, software postprocessing filters, etc.

DmitriRender is compatible with NVidia and AMD video card with hardware DirectX 11 support, including the AMD APU with built-in graphics processor. DmitriRender is compatible with Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1.

30-day trial demo version is available.

Changelog 24.07.2014. DmitriRender 2.0.0.3:
Optimized code, improved quality, reduced the number of artifacts.
Reduced unnecessary CPU load on NVidia video card.
Fixed a bug on the AMD video card, resulting in green or black screen.
Expanded support for different players (Light Alloy, Stereoscopic Player and others).
Added English version.

Welcome to Blur Busters Forums!

This is useful for people who want to watch video at 120 frames per second at 120Hz, or 144 frames per second at 144Hz. It's like Motionflow for PCs.

How do you compare yourself to SmoothVideo Project, at www.svp-team.com ?

Thanks.

You don't need a fast CPU for DmitriRender.
You don't need to customize smooth playback. Just install and play the video.
You can use 64-bit and 32-bit video players.
You can play the video with dinamic framerate. For example, 24-30-50 fps video converted to 120 Hz monitor.
Native DXVA decoding supported.
Some artifacts exist in both products in different cases.
I think in general DmitriRender is more smoothly but have more artifacts than SVP.

No Linux support == no, thanks.

Very interesting! Thanks for posting this. There are other users on this forum that may have an interest in seeing the "LightBoost" effect added to their videos.

Out of curiousity, do you automatically compensate when the refresh rate is changed while in the middle of video playback?

Yes. DmitriRender is a full-featured DirectShow filter and allows you to change the frame rate of the screen on the fly. In this case, the renderer (EVR, SyncRenderer, MadVR) produces dynamic reconnect. DmitriRender supports it, even if DXVA enabled.

Automatic adaptation of the input frame rate (e.g. 24fps, 25fps, 60fps) and output frame rate to monitor refresh rate (60Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz) is a great feature.

One observation has been made. Interpolators such as this one, brings the "LightBoost effect" to videos (motion blur reduction by strobing works very effectively when framerate matches refresh rate), which is something that people on this site may be interested in.

This sounds very good, at least in theory. I'm currently using Smooth Video Project, and in some situations CPU load reaches 100% (probably because I opted fot better image quality).
DmitriRender isn't expensive, in comparison with programs like powerdvd or anydvd hd. Is the interpolation effect very customizable, like SVP?

No. DmitriRender is fully automatic. You can only choose how much of the resources (GPU) DmitriRender can use for calculation. Just enjoy the movies, but not the settings.
