Davinci Resolve 14 announced, supports 120fps!

Discussion about 120fps HFR as well as future Ultra HFR (240fps, 480fps and 1000fps) playing back in real time on high refresh rate displays. See Ultra HFR HOWTO for bleeding edge experimentation.

Davinci Resolve 14 announced, supports 120fps!

Post by Xx123456xX » 25 Apr 2017, 08:06

For a while the only NLE to support 120fps was Magix/Sony Vegas. However, unless I misread the details, it seems Blackmagic Design's newest version of its Davinci Resolve NLE will also support real-time 120fps projects.

EDIT:
After having downloaded Resolve 14 Studio, I can confirm it supports the following frame rates:
23.98, 24.00, 25.00, 29.97, 30.00, 47.96, 48.00, 50.00, 59.94, 60.00, 72.00, 96.00, 100.00, 119.88, and 120.00.
NOTE: This is the studio/$300 version, the free version only goes up to 60.00. Also I still have to use ffmpeg to speed up the video from some cameras.

Nice -- 120fps video editing finally arrives!

For those interested, 120fps can be embedded on the web for the last few years.
Blur Busters has covered these before.
-- 120fps HFR Web Video
-- World's First 120fps Embedded Video Game Recording

In my experience, the web is already compatible with 120fps embedded videos. But creating these videos in the first place often required some ffmpeg sorcery to make them work. Native 120fps editing in high end editors is very welcome!
