Best Monitor for the Xbox Series X

All newer XBOX consoles supports 120Hz+ & FreeSync. Getting help with getting "Better Than 60Hz" on the XBOX ONE, XBOX Series S, and XBOX Series X, as well as the PlayStation 5.

Best Monitor for the Xbox Series X

Post by Too Fresh » 09 Nov 2020, 09:00

I currently have a Viewsonic XG2402 due to reading on this forum that it's one of the best/quickest monitors for the Xbox One X.
I play a lot of competitive FPS's so the quickness helps.

As of Friday, I just got the new Xbox Series X and I'm thinking the Viewsonic I have is probably not the best fit for this next gen Xbox.

So I am looking for recommendations for best monitor for the new Xbox Series X.
I'm looking for a low latency monitor for quick competitive games.
What are you thoughts/picks and why?

Any help would be highly appreciated!

I am also interested in this topic and if anyone has any suggestions. I also have a viewsonic but that xg204R, and it won't allow me to enable 120hz on my XSX display setting AND VRR. I think I tried everything...and looks my only option is "auto-detect" on (which I think stays at 60hz) and VRR enabled or 120hz with VRR disabled. Anyone know the best monitor for the series X that supports both to be on? I'm playing competitive FPS at 1080p, but would maybe also be interested in 1440p monitors. Thank you for any help or feedback.

I purchased the BenQ EX2780Q which is one of the compatible ones with 1440p 120Hz VRR and I'm very happy with it. I selected the 1440p over 4k due to the high refresh rate games being rendered much closer to this resolution and also that I am at a distance where I won't be able to perceive a difference between 4k and 1440p. That and there's no HDMI 2.1 monitors out for 4k 120Hz

Take a look at ASUS VG275Q 27 Full HD or AOC 24G2 24" Frameless Gaming IPS Monitor (if 24 inches isn't too small for you).

When looking for a monitor for the Xbox Series X, there are a few key features to consider, such as resolution, refresh rate, and input lag.

1. Samsung Odyssey G9
2. Acer Predator X27
3. ASUS ROG Swift PG279QZ
4. LG 27GL83A-B
5. Alienware AW3420DW

All these monitors have low input lag, high refresh rates and G-Sync or FreeSync compatibility, which is essential for competitive gaming. The resolution and screen size are also important factors to consider, 4K resolution and ultrawide monitors are great for immersive gaming experiences.

Those are good recommendations.

That being said...

I'd throw in the ViewSonic XG2431 because it has low 60Hz lag and a motion blur reduction mode that works properly at 60Hz.

So if you need to correctly (roughly) match a 60Hz CRT tube in motion quality, then you have very few options (such as the ViewSonic XG2431) since most monitors won't motion-blur-reduce 60Hz.

It also happens to be Blur Busters Approved 2.0 -- www.blurbusters.com/xg2431
