Hi I have just picked up a great bargain of a used Viewsonic XG2402 from Amazon.
Set up:
144Hz
Freesync on (both X and monitor)
Auto pick HDMI on the X
Rampage Response : Fastest (this to me is the snappiest for FPShooters)
And it is majorly quick I am really happy, a few questions.
The monitor is rated around 8ms for 60Hz average.
Having my monitor at 144Hz and freesync enabled this means that I am just below and around 60Hz playing a call of duty title is my guess? Also what sort of input lag am I seeing with this set up, slightly higher than 8ms or lower?
If I change the display setting from auto to manual I can select 1080p 60Hz or 120Hz but I give up the ability to use freesync then.
From what I read using it at 144Hz freesync tops using the 120Hz setting.

It is lower ms using freesync after what I have read here on the forum and what "I feel".

So 144Hz + freesync is supported now on XB1? Does the monitor's OSD say 144Hz?

The main OSD shows 144Hz
Allow variable refresh rate ticked on the Xbox.
If I set the monitor to manual select HDMI then I get the options for 60 or 120 on the Xbox though if I do Allow variable refresh rate is greyed out.

If this is true, then 60fps@144Hz FreeSync would be utilizing FreeSync as a natural "Quick Frame Transport" mechanism (the quick delivery of 60Hz frames in 1/144sec).
That said, I'd love to see additional confirmations that XB1 is truly outputting a 144Hz-compatible FreeSync signal despite capping the frame rate to 60fps.

The pixel clock is 148MHz, which indicates this is not running in 144Hz mode, but in 60Hz. For 144Hz freesync mode, the pixel clock should be over 300MHz.

Does freesync cause or reduce lag on an Xbox? Should I be capping the monitor to 60Hz refresh rate? Thanks.

Xbox one X Native resolution @ 60 Hz with Freesync I get 9.2 ms
My calculations are that VRR raises the native + VRR by .2 ms so 60+VRR raises it by around .4

I just bought this monitor and unable to to tick both 120hz and vrr. VRR is greyed out. Whats the best setting for xbox fps games?
