[EMI] 1500mV When computer is running!!!

Separate area for niche lag issues including unexpected causes and/or electromagnetic interference (ECC = retransmits = lag). Interference (EMI, EMF) of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction latencies like a bad modem connection. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI. Please read this before entering sub-forum.

Coming back with some tests done and some interesting things to note

Test 1
- HX1200 received and after testing the PSU, it's emitting 580mV
 Video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/nG6JRoTcBGjVDiLk9
I'm not getting near to the other results from the other videos I posted earlier. I noticed that my mV was already around 170mV before the PSU ran it's because the light dimmer in the living room was on! Once it's off it goes back to 70mV. Even if the dimmer is off the results remain the same for the HX1200 on my side.

The interesting part is that I did install the HX1200 in my computer for a test run and it's giving me around 500mV and sometimes down to 400mV. First of all, it's 1000mV less than the HX850 which is great. Finally, there must be something going on, potentially DC current present in my AC :?:

"What I noticed when testing is more responsiveness of my system, the mouse feels a bit shaper and I noticed that in Valorant for example in the range I usually have 800 FPS and now it's fluctuating to 950 up to 1000. Interesting!"

Test 2
- I decided to remove completely the HX850 from my computer and tested it, resulting in 350mV. This is lower than last time which was around 700mV but it was in my computer case with all cables plugged in except, Motherboard, GPU, and HDD
 Video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/vdfC4PQHYXkJas1D6
However, when I plug everything back into my computer the EMI line meter will read back 1500mV

Test 3
- Since I still had the HX1500i with me, I decided to run it on my computer and the result is the same as the HX850 but a bit lower around 1100mV
 Video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/jWy8wJqVqPJ1uMg7A

Conclusion: The HX1200 seems to filter something better than the HX850 and HX1500i

Maybe the next step is to find DC Blocker and test it live video?
I am excited to test it my self because i think i dont need that much improvement. Dont know if i cant fit that PSU in my case . That PSU is biger so there can be more filtering…. Good job man

can transformer reduce it ? from 110v to 220v or 220v to 110v
What do you mean, I don’t get it?
like the psu creating EMI in 220v for example
might it work better with powering up it with 110v ?
or reducing the EMI

Thanks man, I was hopping to get low EMI like other videos with the HX1200, but now I know something is going on in my current. Other than DC current potentially travelling in my AV, anything else you could thing that can affect this?

Atleast I know the HX1200 is behaving better than the HX850 and HX1500i

I live in North America, current is 110-120v

Not sure what you mean by something traveling in AV…?
One more question did that PSU improve hitreg?
What help me:
Rebuild fuse box - there is still a lot to do
Get a intel…. will be hard for you because you rig looks awesome… But if i can compare intel vs AMD there is big diference i swear

That make sense to me did you test it yourself?
I installed it with last PC build, desync in online games is still here. However no evidence, that my problem not internet related

There is a video on Hardware Nexus's youtube channel, it was an interview between Steve & Johnny Guru "The Power Supply guy". Explaining a little bit about the EMI Filters present in the power supplies. Also, another link explaining what is the functionality of the EMI Filter and how it works..

Thank you for the video, from your perspective, what do you understand and your input, just wants to ensure I'm hearing the same thing from the video. Always good to see other people's points of view

I hook up on my alt account Valorant to try out "competition" and I feel my mouse is snappier than usual and I have less desync from 1500mV to 400-500mV (Replaced my H850 with HX1200)

My go-to test is, I do activate "Total Packet Loss" and play on the server where I have the highest ping which is texas and 60ms. Usually, my game starts with 5 up to 30 packet losses in the "Outgoing Packet Loss" direction (I know that something happened from my side and I'm already desync from a few milliseconds). Basically, if 60ms becomes playable then I know I will have any issues on my closest server

I did well tonight and I never dropped 30 bombs no matter if I play on my main or smurf.

Now the goal is to get rid of that 500mV that is emitted from the HX1200 and also from my Pfsense box

I think you need to test it longer. After few days you may encounter big desyncs and making 1 frag for all game, so you definetely making hasty conclusions.
