Dell Announce New Alienware 27″ 1440p 360Hz and 32″ 4K 240Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitors

High Hz on OLED produce excellent strobeless motion blur reduction with fast GtG pixel response. It is easier to tell apart 60Hz vs 120Hz vs 240Hz on OLED than LCD, and more visible to mainstream. Includes WOLED and QD-OLED displays.

If you cannot stand a brightness >100nits it is either a bad habit you have or I'd suggest you get an appointment with your doctor.
I suggest you stop trying to pass off your experience and preference as factual info for everyone else.
There is nothing personal, I'm only speaking facts. Saying that a brightness below 100 nits is a non issue visibility wise is simply wrong.

This topic is getting hard oneguy'd. You're not speaking facts, you're speaking a personal preference that you're trying to masquerade as an objective fact.
"brightness below 200 nits is definitely on the extreme low side"
For starters, displays are generally calibrated to 120-130 nits (SDR). In rooms with controlled lightning that's typically good for general usage. If there's sunlight in the room or you're using sunglasses, less than 200 nits isn't probably going to be enough for the average user.
all LCDs are able to reach 300/400+nits easily at peak SDR brightness. OLED monitors raise this problem since they can only reach 200-230nits of brightness for the best ones.
In Rtings test the relatively dim LG 27GR95QE-B had 172 nits in the real scene SDR test, yet there's not many people complaining about the brightness.

HDR is a completely different matter, in HDR it does 424 nits in the same test. Simple full screen white max nits doesn't translate that well into real life because you almost never see scenes like that.

You can do whatever you want, if you prefer to use a ridiculously low brightness do it. But stop saying that <100 nits is equally optimal to a normal brightness of over 250nits for gaming. That is simply wrong.

For general desktop usage you may want to use lower brightness, but I am talking about gaming here and especially about competitive games.

Not many people complaining about LG 27GR95QE-B brightness ? In which world are you leaving in ? That is exactly the main issue with this monitor and other OLEDs, stopping people from buying it or returning it if they did.

Have you ever seen a monitor calibrated using ICC profile? For my XG2431, when calibrated, the recommended brightness setting is 17 out of 100 if you want the best color accuracy. Super bright monitors and high nit count monitors are useless for most casual people, unless you use HDR/Strobing a lot. Personally, I don't care for either.

Lower brightness may be better color accuracy wise, especially on a IPS panel where black looks greyish the more we push brightness. But this is off-topic here, I'm only talking about visibility here, and such low brightness is clearly not enough if you want to play competitive games in optimal conditions.

And I am not even talking about "super bright and high nits", but only something >250nits that will be sufficient enough to ensure great visibility in most environments.

You just keep repeating the same thing over and over and you're wrong. You don't need >250nits to be efficient at competitive games. I've proved you're point wrong a few pages back by telling you I've reached plenty of high ranks in many competitive games playing on 0% brightness on the monitor I was using at the time.

There are other alternatives to visibility issues besides cranking your monitor to 100% brightness, like black stabilizer, digital vibrancy, lower res, aspect ratio, fov, etc. You play how you want, but stop telling people they need your preferences to be proficient at games.

You just keep rephrasing what I said in the wrong way. I never once said that you need >250nits to be efficient at competitive games and already replied to that : viewtopic.php?f=25&t=12587&start=10#p99633 .
You only mentioned OW, on which ranks doesn't mean much. I reached top 500 my self at the beginning of OW1 which is meaningless. But again you can obviously play well at any brightness, it is just not optimal (way not optimal with ridiculously low brightness <100nits) and if you say otherwise you are delusional.

Brightness is not the only factor when it comes to visibility ofc, but you can tinker with settings like black equalizer all you want, if you have a very low brightness <200nits the overall image will remain dim and details won't pop enough.

Anybody else getting super excited about the AW2725DF? I’ve had the LG 27GR95E for a year now and while I have appreciated the reliability and flawless operation on firmware 3.08 1.17, the AW2725DF is the gaming monitor I’ve been waiting for ever since I started playing on a 15.6” glossy Samsung Display OLED that was QHD at 240Hz.

I’m really excited firstly for a glossy finish as that was what almost made me return the LG in my first week owning it. A matte finish is truly criminal on an OLED panel!

Next is QD-OLED in a 16:9 form factor at 360Hz. I owned the PG248QP for a short stint and while the motion clarity at 540Hz with ULMB 2 was quite surreal, the contrast and graininess in game of a lower resolution was off putting coming from an LG 27GR95QE.

If the AW2725DF comes in at $1199 I think they’re going to sell A LOT of these in 2024! Here’s hoping it ships within the next two months!

Also, can anyone find the original Twitch stream showcasing the monitors? It seems they may have deleted it?

You realize the AW27525DF is going to sell for $900 dollars right? ;)
Should be available for purchase very soon and unlike the ASUS 480Hz OLED, you can have it at your door this month.
I am debating whether or not I should just get the Alienware now or wait for the 480Hz or just get both. It's also been confirmed that ALL ASUS W-OLED panels will all have strobing so that is absolutely insane. What a time for monitor tech!

I ended up getting the AW2725DF. I had an AMEX offer on my credit card for $120 off purchases of $600+ from Dell so I took advantage of that

IF the ASUS monitors prove they're better for motion clarity, I'll sell my Alienware monitor and get that. I just didn't want to wait. Currently using a 180hz 1440p IPS monitor and I just constantly feel like I'm a half second behind a lot of players in reaction time in Valorant

Also Zowie is showcasing DYAC 2 any day now.
