Setup 400Hz on 480Hz Monitor

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, ToastyX, black frame insertion (BFI), and now framerate-based motion blur reduction (framegen / LSS / etc).

Setup 400Hz on 480Hz Monitor

Post by [email protected] » 20 Mar 2025, 03:27

Hello,
i have the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP, 26.5" with 480Hz.
I would like to setup 400Hz via CRU but in the CRU i can´t setup above 367Hz.
How can i setup 400Hz? Any idea?

Can't you copy the existing 480Hz mode and tweak it?

Nope, the 480Hz are already marked red.
It seems like the maximum programmed Hz in the CRU software are 367Hz.
Is there any walkaround?
The sourcecode is public, could someone code more Hz in the software for me pls? :D

If the extension block is DisplayID 1.3, try changing it to 2.0 instead. Does that allow higher Hz? Might not work on Windows 10 though. I think DisplayID 2 is only supported in Windows 11.

I just tried it myself and it works fine, even with DisplayID 1.3:

Are you sure you're using the latest version of CRU? (1.5.2 as of this writing.) Or maybe you're trying to add this in the main section rather than in the DisplayID extension block? You need to double-click the DisplayID extension block, and then in the window that opens, double-click the "Detailed resolutions" entry to be able to edit or add high refresh rate modes.
