G-Sync and ULMB at the same time is in fact possible!

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, Turbo240, ToastyX Strobelight, etc.

I also do not get the ""always keep 3d enabled"" drop down on my NVIDIA drivers.

I take it the 3D emitter is 100% needed?

Yes. You have the option because the monitor supports 3d vision 2, but you can't activate it without the goggles/emitter.

There was an emulator but Nvidia patched it out in their drivers.
If you are brave and want to screw around with it

http://kostasoft.com/downloads/3Dvision.zip

You can TRY downloading the OLD NVidia 275.xx drivers which worked with this emulator,
then extract from the 275.xx drivers, in the 3d vision 2 setup folder (whatever it's called),
nvstusb32.sys, nvstusb64.sys
Then copy those 2 files over into the current drivers setup file for the current 3d vision 2 drivers, and then see if that works.
If this does wind up working you might not need the 3d glasses emitter.

This method DID work up to a point, it was tested up to the early 30x.xx drivers, but I have no idea if it still works.

Ya from what I've been reading that old way doesn't work anymore. Just bought a emitter and will be here tomorrow.

Even with the 3Dvision 2 emitter plugged in I do not get the drop down menu:
"Select when the screen is in 3D mode:"

"Always"
"Only while 3D programs are executing"
"Only while 3D programs in fullscreen are executing"

Any idea why?

Have you passed the initial 3D Vision setup (or do games work in 3D for you)? Try not to bypass it, just in case. And what version of Windows are you using? I use Windows 7, so I don't know if the options are still there in 8 and 10.

I've got to sleep now, so if you answer now, you'll have to wait.

Yes, everything works properly in 3D and it was setup.

I am on Windows 10. I bet since you are on Windows 7 that's why you have those options. No matter what I do I cannot get it to work without that drop-down menu. I think this may be a Windows 7/driver only hack.

Is there a way to open the NVCP itself or stereovision setup tab using windows 7 compatibility mode? Or to override compatibility of the EXE somehow?

Due to how WDDM 2.0 works (and the native stereo support) the drop-down doesn't exist anymore under Windows 10.

As a result the 3D driver is set to "When 3D Application run" option equivalent from Windows 7/8 to allow both Window Mode & Fulscreen Apps to run in 3D Vision.

Edit: There is a link somewhere where I found this information a couple of months ago. If I'll find it I'll paste it here

So that basically means this hack won't work with Win 10 eh? Stinks considering W7 is basically on life support. :(

You said you got the desktop in 3D mode right?
If you did then all you have to do now is create a custom resolution like Masterotaku said.
Do it in the NVCP.
I believe what you're doing is, you're sort of using "GPU scaling" on 2560x1440 into his weird resolution.

So when the game starts, if I read masterotaku correctly, you set the game to run at 2540x1420 or whatever his resolution was.
That resolution in full screen mode should "trigger" ULMB while Gsync remains enabled.

This is an Nvidia driver bug. I know it is.
Because the same driver bug allows the Benq XL 1080p 144hz monitors to run at a "fake" 180 hz refresh rate but its actually 144hz to the monitor but 180hz to windows, which causes bizarre stuff to happen (e.g. stuttering).

Something like this on a Benq monitor.

360 hz refresh rate on a Benq XL2411Z....yeah....
