Need help with HD

This should be an easy one for you technical guys. Not so easy for me. *sigh*
My monitor is an ROG PG279Q. I am running a displayport cable to my desktop and trying to watch WWE Network in high def, but am experiencing the same motion blur I get from most games. Resolution is 2560 x 1440. What am I missing?
