VG248 + Custom Resolution

Post by box » 22 Jun 2014, 06:49

Hi

I've been using lightboost with 1920x1080 just fine but can't get it to work for 1440x1080. I understand I'm supposed to use CRU to add the custom resolution but I've no idea what I'm doing lol.

Can anyone help me get 1440x1080 @ 120Hz in Lightboost 2D?

Well I seem to have been able to make it work just by adding a custom resolution in nvidia control panel but it's pretty buggy. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes you can't turn it off, sometimes it says it's on but clearly isn't and vica versa. It seems to always be some combination of all these things, but never actually works properly. I think I need to make two resolutions, one where lightboost doesn't work.

EDIT: Alright I added two custom resolutions in nvidia control panel, one at 120Hz (Lightboost on) and one at 121Hz (Lightboost off), and now the program works fine. I can't hotkey in-game to change it but I can use -refresh 120/121 in my launch options to select Lightboost on/off for CS:GO which is all I use that resolution for anyway. I assume this is a safe way to do it as the other installed resolutions have 121Hz variants. I don't know if I should be using 120.5XX or whatever that I saw in CRU though. I just put 121 in nvidia. Can someone please let me know if there's a better solution or a specific Hz I should be using over 121. Thanks.
