TUF VG258QM 280hz opinions

Hey everyone. I am a guy who still lives in a cave and I am playing currently on 60hz monitor. Recently I bought a decent gaming rig and only thing that is missing is a good monitor. I mostly play shooter games, so visuals are not my priority. I usually overclocked my monitor to 75 hz lol. At one point I had 120 hz monitor and it was noticeably better than this one I use now. Now I want to buy some new monitor.

I am between few different ones. I was looking at Benq XL2566k, but it is too expensive in my country (around 800 dollars). I also looked into XL2546k, but it is also expensive in around 500 dollars. Then today I found this monitor for cheap: ASUS TUF VG258QM. It says it has some ELMB. I never used any motion blur reduction technology, as I already stated, so I wanted to finally buy something really good in that department. When I flick and swipe through the map of main FPS game I play, I usually dont see anything lol. I lose targets and visibility. I am still a good player tho. But I can see why would I need another monitor.

Is TUF VG258QM a good monitor? Is XL2546k that much superior in terms of motion blur reduction? I am aware of that IPS Viewsonic XG2431 240hz monitor that was made really good with help of blurbusters, but it is unfortunately unavailable in my country. If it was available I would have bought it by now. So, what do you guys think of this Asus one? And one more question, I have read that it only supports ELMB up to 240 hz and not when it is overclocked to 280hz. Is that true?

P.S. I have enough FPS in my main shooter (330fps at lowest and 550 at highest on the map). So that wont be a problem.

But if you intent to use a blur reduction mode like ELMB, ULBM, etc, then you might also look for a typical 144Hz or 165Hz monitor for a better price. Unless you can actually achieve a consistent 280FPS in your game, then 280Hz isn't really helpful.

Thanks RealNC for a reply. I do have enough fps in the game I play. I have 300+ fps, sometimes it even goes to 500. So that is not a problem.

I have TUF259QM 280hz (IPS version) and it suffers from 2 bugs

1) requires really good DP cable. I threw to rubbish bin the stock one (monitor turned off and back on display randomly) and even the stock one from my alienware (which works with alienware 240hz properly). Needed to buy expensive 8K DP cable to stop the occassional turn off.
2) suffers from a bug of DP (doesnt happen trough HDMI 2.0), that the monitor when i start csgo, sometimes automatically disables 240/280Hz option and runs 144Hz only and the 240/280Hz completely disappears from options in windows screen settings until i reboot my PC. Then its necessary to manually switch from 144Hz to 240Hz/280Hz until the bug appears again some day (but sometimes someday = next restart). Also sometimes one more reboot needed to get G-sync back on.

I have both monitors, XL2546K and VG258QM, similar performance with dyac off, gsync off. it depends of what do u want, Dyac or Gsync.
Dyac is great if you hate motion blur and want a clear image on movement
Gsync is great if you hate tearing and want a smooth experience

1st bug never happen to me,
2nd bug was a pain, weird but when i update to windows 11 that bug never happened again

You can run C.R.U. and delete all resolutions except 1080p@280hz. This happened to me and a friend of mine and this fixed that.
