another "240" in the name? hope it doesn't have an extra frame of input lag like the fg2421

and I dont see why they're naming it 240... hopefully they don't mean that the strobe length is 1/240 seconds.......

Since 120Hz strobing is lower persistence than 144Hz without strobing - manufacturers have tended to come up with "240" marketing.

In reality, persistence is likely in the neighbourhood of 1ms or thereabouts (strobe flash length) which is equivalent to a measured motion clarity ratio of 1000 rather than 240, going by (1/persistence) estimation of motion clarity, as reliably shown by strobe backlights in general.

Is there any particular reason why strobe backlight is limited to 120 Hz? Why not 144 Hz strobe as well?

Too bad the LG is just 1080p.

I'm guessing it is like the other monitors where the timings are too tight to be able to do it at 144hz.
You have to wait for the every pixel to transition to the new frame before you strobe. The time between the top left pixel transitioning and the bottom right may not allow enough time to strobe.

LG had only one 120Hz before (LG W2363D) and with it's own feature THRU Mode (almost zero input lag) that tech worked perfect - best at that time. Dunno why Chief didn't mention LG's DAS (Dynamic Action Sync):

I have no idea what "dynamic action sync" is. imo input lag shouldn't need to be "cut". computer monitors should be designed with minimal input lag in mind...

apart lightboost&ULMB, which one has an accelerated scan-out ?

They said "cut" meaning input lag will be minimized as possible. As you can see even vendors who specializes only in competitive gaming gear can make and sell products (mouses) with twice more input lag than others... http://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1279
There are already several examples of 120Hz monitors with input lag.

For me what is interesting - is this monitor native 8bit?
And what other 120+ tn monitors are native 8bit without dithering/shimmering (beside rog swift)?
As it is without gsync probably price will be appropriately lower.
