Lightboost Acer Predator XB270

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, Turbo240, ToastyX Strobelight, etc.

Lightboost Acer Predator XB270

Post by schnip » 11 Sep 2014, 09:09

Hi Guys,

has someone tested LightBoost hack on the Acer Predator XB270Hbmjdprz?

It is not on the supported monitors list because the release was fairly recent.

I may order it and just try CRU Method with it or are there other "general" methods to force LightBoost on unsupported Monitors?

That's the XB270HB[...] model, which doesn't support ULMB. The XB270HA is the one with ULMB.

Yes, the CRU method works.

Once it works successfully, then ToastyX Strobelight can be used as a method of turning it ON/OFF. (once LightBoost is successfully turned on at least once by a different method). Strobelight doesn't support first-time initialization of LightBoost, but it can control ON/OFF once it's successfully turned ON, at least until the monitor is unplugged from the power outlet.

Could you explain how exactly you activate Lightboost on this monitor?

Greetings
