Recently got an Acer Predator GN246HL. It has pretty bad ghosting normally, although this seems greatly reduced with Lightboost enabled.
However, with Lightboost on, I get a strange (different) ghosting effect where I can faintly see the last 2 or 3 frames at the top of the screen. It's only just noticeable at the bottom of the screen, and the middle of the screen is perfect. However, at the top of the screen it's incredibly distracting/annoying. It's noticable just by moving the mouse in Windows, and in games it seems even worse.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks in advance.
Ghosting only at top of screen with Lightboost on GN246HL
Re: Ghosting only at top of screen with Lightboost on GN246H
You can try creating an accelerated scan-out profile with cru. The ghosting at the top is because the pixels over there have the least time to transition from one color to the next before they become visible by the strobe. Basically what you do is refresh the pixels very fast then wait a "long" time and then strobe the display. I haven't tried it myself but there are some tutorials for setting this up with benq monitors should work with your acer as well.

Thanks for your response! I can't find any of these tutorials, could you possibly link me one?

This is probably the most complete one but your monitor is a bit different so results can vary. If you input things that don't work you could end up with a screen that is completely black once you boot up into windows. It doesn't mean your screen is broken just that it doesn't accept those timings. So if you can, try to have a back up monitor available if you try this. So you can easily revert the settings. Otherwise you have to go into safe mode and do other annoying things. It is rather weird though that you experience this at the top of your screen because most people have this problem at the bottom.

Many thanks! I'll try this out.

Aw, doesn't work. I used the NVIDIA Control Panel, and when testing it my monitor said "invalid input". Any other ideas?
Re: Ghosting only at top of screen with Lightboost on GN246H
Okay, I found the highest I can go is 1299 vertical total pixels. However, when I do this Lightboost becomes disabled. How can I force it to stay enabled?
Re: Ghosting only at top of screen with Lightboost on GN246H
Got it working! Just had to do the GeForce 3D Vision Setup and it automatically started enabling when in-game. I no longer have the ghosting at the top of the monitor! Thanks!
Re: Ghosting only at top of screen with Lightboost on GN246H
(Sorry for the bumb)
Just realised my monitor is still at 1149 total vertical pixels when using Lightboost, yet I don't have the ghosting like before. Maybe there's something about using the 3D Vision Setup that fixed my issue?

Well don't fix a working system I'd say nice you got the problem solved.
