I am getting a buzzing noise from my monitor when strobbing is enabled. I think it's due to the 3D emitter but I'm not sure. My VG248QE doesn't make this buzzing noise.
EDIT: Oh. I only install the Nvidia driver along with the PhysX for RO2:Rising Storm

Re: Buzzing Noise with ToastyX + VG278H
This is strange. I think it's the LightBoost related electronics -- as the strobing may be producing the 120Hz audio buzz. This shouldn't be happening, unless you have unusually sensitive hearing. If you have access to another VG278H, you should give that a display test.
The VG278H has the best LightBoost colors, compared to the VG248QE -- no color tint, and the colors get much brighter in LightBoost mode when you set the VG278H's OSD Contrast to between 85% and 90%, as found in the LightBoost HOWTO at www.blurbusters.com/lightboost/howto

Does the 3D emitter need to be enabled? It's lit up when Strobbing is on. I don't remember it being on with the old method.
Re: Buzzing Noise with ToastyX + VG278H
With your VG278H you do not need to use the 3D emitter, if you are using Method 1 of enabling Lightboost: ToastyX Lightboost App.
I'm not sure what you mean by the 'old method', but if you mean using the 3D emitter for Lightboost, its not required for that monitor.

For some reason the 3D emitter turns on when I use the Strobelight app
Re: Buzzing Noise with ToastyX + VG278H
Oops, I think I might be mixing monitors. This monitor has the 3D emitter built-in, correct? If so, then I believe the emitter should be enabled, yes, as light boost is a 3D technology tricked into working in 2D mode.
Past speculation, I'd say maybe we need another opinion here?
Either way, it should not be buzzing. Was there anything changed before it starting making noise? Or has it always made that noise?

Yeah, the 3D emitter is built-in, and on the top part of the bezel.
It's never buzzed before. No. Nothing has been changed to the monitor itself.
EDIT: Do I need to have the 3D drivers installed? Like I mentioned I only install the display driver, and Physx software.

This is normal.BTRY B 529th FA BN wrote:For some reason the 3D emitter turns on when I use the Strobelight app
Using LightBoost turns the 3D emitter on, on the ASUS VG278H monitor and on the BENQ XL2420TX monitor.
It should not create a buzzing sound, so this might be a RMA. If it is a 120Hz buzz, it might be the sound of the power supply (e.g. transformer vibration) sending power surges during the strobe flashing.
