Really good question. It actually reminds me very, very much of faulty GPU Ram. This often provides a similar checkerboard flashing. But this can't be the reason here. I tried two GPU, both show the same problem.

That youtube guy meanwhile responded, but seems nothing that helps. He is telling us it is an overclocked 144Hz Panel, and he is leaning towards "power problems" would create those issues.

The funny thing is that the behaviour won't change with GSync on or off; 60/120/240 Hz; run as a single monitor or paired with another screen and an Oculus Rift. This really looks to be a technical problem Dell needs to fix. At least it seems not very common so there is a high chance to RMA for a flawless model.

It's really annoying how many problems many of those high refresh rate screens have, and how bad the quality control nowadays is.

^Exactly...
Earlier I paid less attention to people on this forum claiming that 240hz screens were half-baked... but seeing and experiencing how hard it is to get one that works properly, makes me give them credit.

So I have received a reply from Dell this morning. I had sent a video along with my Support Ticket, and the guy on the phone reviewed it. He put me on hold for 2-3 minutes. He talked to a lvl 2 Tech, and that guy advised this issue should be a failure between the Panel and the Converter Board. An exchange unit is on the way to me now. :)

Quick service, I hope the exchange unit is a flawless one.

Germany. I have had bad experiences with the Dell Hotline in the past, but this was a good one. :)

hux0 wrote:Hey guys. I got this Alienware screen today. Unboxed and plugged it in. But there is a huge problem which I can't seem to solve yet. I Google for it and found a guy on YouTube that has the same issue, but no solution. Is that a hardware fault, or what could cause this issue?

Would appreciate to receive some help. Hopefully there is a fix so I don't have to rma this one.
I had this issue on the Viewsonic XG2530 which uses the same panel. I discovered that it was a Gamma problem. Setting the Gamma to 2.0 removed the issue completely whereas it was a problem when set to 2.2 or 2.4.
