XL2411Z and lightboost question

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, Turbo240, ToastyX Strobelight, etc.

XL2411Z and lightboost question

Post by omna » 03 Mar 2014, 08:25

Hello everyone!

Today I will buy a BenQ XL2411Z monitor. I read about lightboost and I read that this monitor got a feature called "montion blur reduction" that is similar to lightboost. I get any benefit if I activate the ToastyX's lightboost or motion blur reduction is completely the same?

Thanks!

It's very similar. They are both strobe-backlight technologies.

-- ToastyX app is not compatible with Z-series monitors. You need a separate app.
-- You can adjust BENQ Blur Reduction with the new upcoming Blur Busters Strobe Utility app.

Wait a few more weeks before getting the Z-series. If you're okay with TN color quality and is familiar with the quality of current crop of 120Hz monitors and the low color quality (but excellent motion blur reduction) of LightBoost, then BENQ Blur Reduction is better color quality and less motion blur than LightBoost. But only if it's compatible with the Blur Busters Strobe Utility (released March 12th -- see new thread).

Thank you very much for your answer!

I already bought the monitor, it is an other dimension after 60hz, so I really like it. But I have the same problem as the others, the 1/3 of the screen is buggy in blur reduction mode. Looking forward for the program, keep up the good work! :)
