C24FG73 vs XG240R

Post by tassard » 07 Mar 2019, 11:10

Hi guys!

Need your help.I want to buy on of these monitors but i cannot decide which.

I mainly play games, a bit of everything.

Battlefield, AC, Fifa, Paradox strategy games, Far Cry...

Coming from a 75hz ips panel i think the Samsung would be better because of better contrast and colours and it would be more enjoyable for all around gaming.

But...as i said i play BF regulary, and i'm not sure if a VA panel would be good or it would ruin the experience completely.

I know Xg240r is much faster but the colours seem a bit meh to me.

What do you think?

HI there! Welcome to the forums. In your situation, providing you play a lot of genres (strategy, sports, single player adventures), I would get the Samsung CFG73, as long as you never intend to connect a PS4 to it (because its input lag at 60hz is very high; at 144hz is amazing tho).

Battlefield is a bit casual with a lot of walking/vehicles, so I thin VA can suit that game. Considering you don´t seem to play the likes of Quake, Apex, Counter Strike or Overwatch, you can get away with VA.

If you are really serious about competitive advantages, then ofc the XG240R would be the perfect option.

Sounds like the Samsung is better suited for you.
