Samsung CHG90 vs. CRG9

I own the CHG90 and the low motion blur mode is enabled by setting the 'Response Time' option in the menu to 'Fast' or 'Fastest'. Can anyone confirm that it works the same on the newer CRG9 model?

The CRG9 manual has the options listed but I want to ensure that it is in fact lowering motion blur via strobing like its predecessor. Blur Chief? :)

CHG90 = 1 ms
CRG9 = 4 ms

So I was assuming the CRG9 doesn't have the motion blur reduction technology? :oops: *shrug*

BFI is "black frame insertion" equals "blur reduction" or "strobing".

CRG9 49" 5120x1440 120hz; BFI: No

CHG90 49" 3840x1080 144hz; BFI: Yes.

RTINGS is best of the best site :) for monitors and other stuff. prad.de or tftcentral.co.uk are also decent but RTINGS has great UI and many reviewed model.

Wow, thanks :D I wonder what the 'Faster' and 'Fastest' settings do now on the CRG9? No BFI, no sale $$. Booo, lol

I'm eyeballing the LG 38GL950G. I don't see that on the rtings website yet. It looks like motion blur reduction via BFI is becoming less popular :( That's the only method that really works in my opinion.

BFI can be either backlight based (backlight strobing) or frame based (real black frames).

BFI is sometimes generic terminology for LightBoost / ULMB.

Most BFI on televisions now use backlight strobing, same as LightBoost/ULMB/DyAc/etc

I've had both for a week and to me CRG9 even without BFI looked faster than CRG9 with BFI. Much more relaxing for the eyes too. I've also had LG 27GL850 for a week and it looked as fast as CRG9, but had much lower contrast ratio and brightness. If LG 38GL950G would be the same LG 27GL850, it would be very disappointing, LG 27GL850 left very bad impression on me.
