Best blur reduction mode for me is 119hz with PureXP on Extreme setting. With 119hz strobed i can really track the moving window with text and actually read it in the same time. NO other mode allows that, i tried 240 unstrobed, 224 strobed and so on, 120hz strobed doesnt work as well, its even worse than 240hz unstrobed. I think i can safely extrapolate this assumption for other 240hz IPS and 240hz TN panels. So the best mode to use this monitor for surfing, working with text and so on for me is 119hz with PureXP on. Though its not nearly as good as the CRT 120Hz, even though i didnt see one for a LONG time, but still. I think there's noticeable difference. I see small ghosting trail behind a moving window on 119hz strobed . Also i dont notice strobing on 119hz on XG270. Even though my eyes are pretty sensitive. I recall seeing strobing on CRT with 85hz and below, at 100hz i was pretty comfortable and on any frequency above 100 i couldnt really notice it anymore.
I made a custom resolution with a large vertical total of 2269 at 119Hz. I highly recommend you create one yourself, as it takes 119Hz to near CRT motion clarity. Prepare to be amazed, seriously. Most of where you'd be looking at has no noticeable crosstalk.
I tried to create a low-lag custom resolution with a large vertical front porch value just like the Chief created in a related thread, but I cannot do so with CRU or AMD Control Panel. CEA-861 won't accept the vertical front porch of 1080, but when I create it under DisplayID, the custom resolution doesn't show. Besides, I don't notice any input delay as it is, so...

With RTSS Scanline Sync, recalibrated to end-of-VBI frame presentation, you don't need to worry about the size of porches.
VT2269 (regardless of which porches is used) still provides an opportunity of a (2269/1125) frame transport acceleration factor relative to default VT1125 -- slightly more than double speed transmission of refresh cycles.

This setting looks good even in the higher brightness settings like Light and Normal

Wow that's very clear, I tried Large VT(2100) @144hz on my VG259qm but it doesn't look nearly as good as yours, on my Asus the overdrive is stuck at 80 causing noticeable overshoot and there's a lot of crossalk.
This is what my VG259QM looks like at 240hz with adaptive sync OFF and VT to 1241
https://imgur.com/a/lXaRxFj (From the top of the screen to the bottom).
I don't know why but using Adaptive Sync with ELMB-Sync tends to "smear" the ufo, it should actually do the opposite since VT are automatically managed.
Have you guys tried Scanline sync with PureXP at 240hz on the XG270? Right now I'm sticking to low-lag vsync since enhanced sync seems to only enhance mycrostuttering (I wasn't quite sure what was causing eye fatigue until I recorder a video at 480fps.

I'm glad you guys like the custom resolutions! I'm really happy with them myself, but there isn't enough bandwidth for 10-bit colour. Will I notice this in games, or is it only for creative applications?

The
Low-Lag VSYNC HOWTO is the easiest method of having silk smoothness.
The RTSS Scanline Sync method can slightly lower the lag further by moving frame presentation time to end of VBI (right before the new refresh cycle), you just have to calibrate in a way that the tearline is just immediately right above the top edge of the screen (close to end of VBI), rather than right below the bottom edge of the screen (close to beginning of VBI). At least until official Quick Frame Transport features arrives in NVIDIA/Microsoft drivers.
To do so in RTSS, use negative scanline indexes for easiest "tearline-above-top-edge" calibration. Definitely make sure your game can do >120fps before using RTSS Scanline Sync with 120Hz PureXP. Switch to a lower Hz PureXP if necessary, as framerate=Hz matching is more important than slight Hz reductions for motion quality prioritization of strobing.

I replied to this in:

For those people who cant launch Elite Display Control after updates. Do a memory recall in monitor menu. Then try to turn off RGB in there as well. EDC was able to launch for me after that. Not sure if turning off RGB helps, but memory recall sure does.
Also for some reason i dont have G-Sync option in my NVCP. I saw someone mentioned the same problem. Was anyone able to fix that?
My monitor driver version is 1.0.0.0 from 18.09.2019. I dont know where to get a newer one if there is. This one was from the viewsonic site for windows 7.
Also about the custom resolutions. There are at least 2 different instructions of how to create one. But they use different VT number. One is VT 2250 for 120Hz, another one is 2180 (a chief's). Im not advanced user, dont understand the meaning of VT yet, but i tried both ways to create a custom resolution for 119Hz. Maybe i myself am glitching, but it looks like i have rare random stutters when i use custom resolution with VT 2269 for 119Hz. Can this be, or maybe something else has effect on my display that i dont understand yet? The other one runs fine and i dont notice anything unusual.

That's a really good analysis of how ELMB works with VRR
