Hello everyone, I have an Alienware AW2518HF 240hz using gsync on the nvidia dashboard. Use my monitor on a simple DisplayPort 1.2 cable. Would I have any gain if I exchanged my cable for a more expensive DisplayPort 1.4?

Nope. Freesync-based gsync works over 1.2a just fine. If you don't have any problems activating gsync, there's no reason to replace the cable.
