Hello, I tried to enable VBR method in Acer VG270U, and screen is 20 times darker, at normal and extreme. If I try to make it brighter with nvidia it looks veeeery bad. What I can do?

Other than setting the monitor's brightness to maximum, nothing. This is normal. That's how motion blur reduction works.

hi verllar, if you can. can you please tell me if you can enable VRB in your Acer VG270U at 60hz? i ask because i see in the acer monitor specs website, at the "features" section (NITRO VG0 Model Name: VG270U) https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/m ... .HV0AA.P01 that they show a image of a fighting game (killer instinct 2013) as an example of the quality of their blur reduction VRB tech, but from what i know, that game is designed for 60fps, so if they use a 60fps game to showcase their motion clarity quality, one asume that their blur reduction tech also works at 60 fps, however acordding to the following review, VRB is only allowed to be enabled at 120hz:

(and talking about your main concern: "Even with brightness set at its max, the display looked dull with VRB enabled")

i highly suspect a false advertising which is something that sadly as become very comon in today monitors manufacturers since motion clarity technicles on today monitors are plagged with lots of flaws they are trying to underestimate to customers (like the massive brightness loss you are getting when enabling VBR)

Nothing unfortunately. With VRB normal I measured a brightness of 142 cd/m^2 which is equivalent to a brightness setting of 24 without VRB. The extreme mode reduces the brightness even further to about 77 cd/m^2 what would be 6 without VRB. Full brightness is about 360 cd/m^2 btw. I would recommend turning off VRB if you're not to sensitive to motion blur.

There are some monitors that gets 300 nits in blur reduction, which are mainly the 25 inch 240Hz TN monitors, those with ULMB or DyAc.

The best one of that bunch is the BenQ XL2546 or XL2546S:
