ASUS TUF VG27AQ - Severe Crosstalk

Hi All,

Have been through many of the forum posts and articles on this site regarding crosstalk and motion blur reduction technologies, however I'm really having trouble understanding what I can do to reduce the amount of what looks looks to be crosstalk that I'm getting. I just bought this monitor, had to return the first one due to stuck pixels and this is the replacement. I don't recall having this issue with the one I returned.

Whenever I move the camera in games, I get severe blurring around the leading edges of objects and characters. It is present with ELMB Sync both on and off. It seems to be an issue with the Trace Free (overdrive) setting as it gets better the lower I set it (disappears at 0 with ELMB off). It is especially apparent when I've got blue light reduction activated (I use f.lux) as it gives the blur a green tinge. It doesn't seem to be affected by framerate as I've managed up to 120fps with no reduction in the blur.

I'm really at my wits' end now with this, nowhere have I read people having this degree of issue with this monitor. Is it possible I've got a dud display?

Images of the blur are attached. Would appreciate any help you smart people can provide.

Thanks.

ELMB-Sync not use single strobe, use double strobing at each monitor refresh, even more when FPS low to much, in order to avoid brightness and flicker variations when FPS change in VRR mode. You can see it very detailed at amazing ApertureGrille review.

Is the cause of the constant doubled images, even when your FPS are equal with your refreshrate and VSync is On. Is unbearable ! Eyes fatigue, headache.

If you like strobing, to get closer to CRT monitor motion smoothness, make sure you use allways the monitor with single strobe, one at each refresh. Therefore strobing must have allways FPS = Hz and VSync On, currently VRR + Strobing is not a reliable tech, is a marketing hook.

If you like more IPS Vs TN, i recommend Viewsonic XG270 even being 1080p monitor, 240Hz and single strobe operation, not cause double images, and crosstalk is reduced as much has the current tech allows. With high quality AA pixel size can be sneaky a bit until there are a 1440p BlurBusters Approved.

Is the way to go, current ELMB-Sync is a hell of motion artifacts. Sadly, just the opposite that it pretends to do.

Double images are more annoying for some people that motion blur. I'm in this list.

VG259QM handled this better and it's the reason I don't use the VG27AQ. It sucks at motion unless frames are high. Running the g7 odyssey 27 inch which is just all around a great monitor and has TN like speed. The VG259QM has a place for fast paced games or if I want to try hard lol.
