Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, Turbo240, ToastyX Strobelight, etc.

What happens if you use the highest pure xp setting then increase your in game brightness?

Increasing in-game brightness is simply an equivalent of gamma adjustment and/or raising black levels.
You don't get improved peak whites, but you can brighten a lot of dark colors to brighter.

The net effect is things will have poorer colors and a more bleached look, but easier to see.
