[XL2420TE] Lightboost and display scaling

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, Turbo240, ToastyX Strobelight, etc.

[XL2420TE] Lightboost and display scaling

Post by Craftyman » 29 May 2014, 03:35

Hi, I like to use the ToastyX lightboost app, but it seems like it won't let me use the display scaler while that is enabled? Only GPU is available under the nVidia control panel when I install the app's refresh rates. Is there a way to use display scaling and Lightboost at the same time? GPU scaling feels like it introduces some nasty input lag to me. Thanks!

Also sidenote: anyone got any ICC profiles for this monitor? ;)

In general, no. If you want to combine display scaling with strobing, you need a different strobed tech (e.g. BENQ Z-Series Blur Reduction instead of LightBoost).

Thanks for the reply, chief. I plan on picking up a PG278Q (ROG Swift) if it performs alright. The PG278Q should have Ultra Low Motion Blur along with G-Sync; do you think I can use display scaling with ULMB?
