I've read multiple articles about the Asus VG248QE G-sync enhanced monitor coming to market early 2014 at a $399 price point.
I don't see any news suggesting this even happening. I need a g-sync monitor but refuse to pay $800 for the ROG swift or $550-$600 for Benq's 1080p 6 bit TN panel that's coming this September.

anybody have any news or insight into this?
I'm aware that there are DIY kits out there for $200 and gsync services for $300, but I'm not interested in that.

Overlord Computer has prebuilt VG248QE GSYNC monitors available for $499:
ASUS VG248QE GSYNC at Overlord Computer
For production GSYNC monitors sold in major stores (NewEgg, Amazon, etc), they are of course, quite delayed, but a large number will be arriving over the next 12 months, some very soon, and some much later. See List of Upcoming GSYNC Monitors.

Yes, I just figured since the first G-Sync kit was designed specifically for the Asus VG248QE - that would be the first G-Sync monitor on the retail market. But I don't even see the VG248QE in the upcoming G-Sync monitors list which very much confuses me.Chief Blur Buster wrote:Overlord Computer has prebuilt VG248QE GSYNC monitors available for $499:

I don't want to purchase the un-calibrated VG248QE with a voided warranty from Overlords computers at an absurd price of $500. My roomate won a G-Sync kit from an online contest earlier this year and I'm aware that you cannot calibrate the monitor (on the hardware end) after the kit in installed.
I was just curious to know if anybody on this forum had some inside information regarding this specific Asus monitor - Articles from 2013 confirmed this to be the first "retail" G-sync monitor and it's nowhere to be seen.

...SoftMCCS is tantamount to directly adjusting your monitor via monitor’s on-screen (OSD) menus.
Re: Where is the G-SYNC-enhanced VG248QE?
The ROG Swift and AOC g2460Pg are the only monitors with recent release news. Both were slated for Q2 and pushed back to July (UK for AOC).
Just my speculation... All Gsync monitors have been delayed. No one is giving updated dates because they have already missed one (Q214). Asus will probably sit on VG248G news until after the ROG Swift has had a chance to sell to early adopters.
